This weekend, my person and I took a little St. Louis sojourn. We went to celebrate @christinecorso, and we wound up also getting to celebrate so many of the folks that saw and held and loved me during my 6 years in STL. I am enormously, overwhelmingly, ridiculously grateful to the people in my life who love me as big as I love them.
Y’all are my heart and y’all are my family. Y’all are the place I can go.

This week's member spotlight goes to our fearless leader, Ellie Stitzer! Ellie is a health science major, with an emphasis on leadership and policy! Ellie's favorite MUC event was last year's Celebrate Abilities Week panel discussing disability issues. When asked why she chose to join MUC, Ellie said " I am passionate about disability rights and wanted to be able to help spark positive change on campus regarding accessibility and inclusion of students with disabilities. I wanted to be able to leave campus knowing that I made an impact and did something to help future students with disabilities at Mizzou. When I see things that need fixed, I am not the type of person to just let someone else do the work- I want to be as involved as possible. MUC gives me the unique ability to get to do this as a student, which is one of the many things I love about it." Fun fact about Ellie, she has a tattoo of President FDR's dog as a symbol of her disability pride! Come meet Ellie and the other wonderful members of our group this Wednesday at 5pm in Arts & Science 232!

On this ADA anniversary I have mixed feelings. While I'm proud and excited for all the work that has been done and will continue to be done (for instance DIA), I am simultaneously grieving for all the hits the ADA has taken under this administration. However, we are strong and as a community we will continue to fight.

@elldaun and I got to check out @whitehouse today. We couldn’t go up to the fence because apparently someone tried to kill someone or something...sooooo yeah, that was cool.
