“Glam Light,” a beer commercial for @glamhagproductions by @glamhag & @madiganburke A very metal cheers to this commercial, and to getting my first experience as a BTS photographer in the can (the most metal can I have ever imbibed from). I‘ve learned so much since starting photography and hopping onto this set but could not be happier that with access to the velvety, lightweight, nostalgic goodness of the old Nikon D3000, I was able to contribute something that fit right in (and which I still like looking at!). Adding “photographed Emma Grede” to my portfolio, because I did that 😏 When I started reading Emma’s new book last week I was INSTANTLY INSPIRED. I learned she’d be in Chicago for her book tour after the fact, and it was sold out. So I contacted the venue, reached out to her team, and despite hearing nothing + a few nos, I decided to show up anyway. Camera ready in case they needed an extra hand too. Yes! Her message was SO INSPIRING but the people I met through the process? Next level impactful. At 6PM I got “in line” with two other ladies (Agnies and Leah) as Emma was arriving. She casually looked us all in the eye and said “Hi, enjoy the show” with the biggest smile. Only one of us had tickets. One more joined us in line (Heyyy Meghan!!!), and the three of us *pictured in one of the slides* managed to buy some last minute tickets that became available. The people that I met/saw last night were one of my favorite parts of the night. The vibes, the kindness, the willingness to work without being irritated by my questions (thanks KK and Candice), the inspiring women with stories (Destini!!!!). THE ENERGY IN THE ROOM. Ugg … so much to share but for now I’ll just soak in this level of audacity that found me here last night 😍 📸: @linettegary_

🩸BLOOD BROTHERS🩸 🩸All black & white film negatives for this project were developed in mine & @trashyboyscout ‘s blood 🩸prints available at BrynGleason.com 🩸 When photographer @matthooks reached out to me to say he was curious to try developing black & white film in blood, I was immediately intrigued. I came up with the Blood Brothers concept as a tribute to love, chosen family, queer bonds & resilience. I asked one of my best friends & Tattoo Artist, @trashyboyscout , if she would do me the honor of not only modeling with me for the photoshoot, but to also contribute her actual blood so we could mix it together to use as the film developer. I’ve never ask so much of someone for my Art, nor have I worked with so many people to make a project come to life. Thank you @trashyboyscout for trusting me, loving me, & working with me on this project. Thank you @matthooks for bringing me this wild idea & asking to collaborate. Thank you to our phlebotomist for helping us get blood out of our bodies safely. Thank you, so so much, to everyone who helped make this project a success, it means more to me than you know.
