Happy Friday lovelies! We made it to another weekend with only one week left until Halloween!!! 🎃 I've been loving the purple and green combo for spooky vibes and wanted to get in on this one ☺️

I haven't had much time for reading but hoping to get some fall activities done this weekend to make up for the lack of fall weather 🍁

Tagging some besties to show us their purple & green books 🤭😉💜💚

My book recap so far in 2026! So many great books! So many new authors! So many new genres! You’ll see the number of books read picks up halfway through the year and I hope to go out strong! It’s been such an honor along the way to have the opportunity to read some really amazing ARCs. If you haven’t read these books or these authors, I encourage you to check them out! I’m current working on The Dragon’s Breath, which I forgot to put on for October! And then I have one more read for October, The Clockwork Cartographer. #bookstagram #bookish #reading #bookcontent #scribblesthatmatter

@elleerheawrites wrote one of the cutest, most romantic nature-inspired novels all about faith, trust, and second chances and I’m so happy to have it on my shelf 🥹🍃✨💚

I have been SOOOO busy with life and reading ARCs, I’ve read so many amazing ARCS in the past two months that I put them all together with my rating (if you want my full review my blog is linked in my linktree)!! Such a great two months I cannot wait to see what the rest of the year has in store for ARCs! All these are out now and I HIGHLY HIGHLY recommend them all!!

September was a long one, my cat had eye surgery, I realized one of my supplements was ruining my life, I ate too much sushi and made pumpkin pie for @ladymandragora33 and I felt like I was annoying everyone all month long—I know I wasn’t actually but that’s what therapy is for right? Despite it all, I saw Chelsea Wolfe for the first time, somehow managed to still laugh a lot and write a little, called @oldgodsfavoriteprincess too many times—I even read the new @ophallic book and it became one of my fav reads of the year. Life is weird, but I can still celebrate the good right?

And how can I not celebrate that @freakonaleashfest is happening once again and I can’t wait to share my vampire alysmond with you all 😈

Have you added any of these to your TBR list? Come along with me and check out these new books that I’ve enjoyed reading! I got some of them directly from authors who reached out to me requesting me to read their book (such an honor by the way)! Some of them I got from @netgalley, @booksprout and @bookfunnel 📖 Tell me, if any, is there one book from this list you think you could enjoy? Let’s support our up & coming authors 🫶📚

My 4 star review of The Roots & Their Rage by @elleerheawrites !
‧₊˚𖤣 𖥧‧₊⚘ ❀༉˚.
Ellee Rhea did such a phenomenal job for this being their fantasy debut novel! The characters were likeable & the plot was addictive, I read this book in just a few days. The nature-based magic was so well-thought out & the imagery to accompany it GORGEOUS! The push & pull of the rot versus the roots was powerful alongside the presence of “warring” divine beings. Finding out the twists at the end was SO gratifying, I wish I could talk about it without revealing so much!

Allyra & Malik’s relationship seems to pick back up almost where they left off, even with the years between them & Allyra’s husband. While Allyra tries to play it safe for the sake of appearances, we know all along that her marriage to Therian is purely political. He cares more for gaining power by leading Sorrel than being a doting husband; Allyra’s father is to blame, in part, due to his desire for ties to the mainland kingdom. The complex nature of the relationships in this book was enjoyable, but I wish there would have been a bit more of a slow burn between Allyra & Malik – I found it hard to get super into the romance aspect since they didn’t necessarily have a very strong connection for long. The present-day romance pacing feels rushed considering Malik’s abandonment of Sorrel & Allyra AND a decade of no contact. I liked the glimpses of their relationship when they were initially betrothed, but I’d have appreciated more of that romance in the present timeline.

Overall, this was a wonderful debut & I recommend it for fans of A Vow of Eternal Night & Kingdom of the Owl! Thank you so much to the author for an advance copy of this book, I can’t wait to see what you’ll write next!
