Today is International Paramedics Day.
I had the privilege of filming and directing this piece for Netcare911, honouring the people behind the sirens. Thank you to the paramedics who shared their stories, to Netcare 911 for trusting us with them, and to an exceptional crew who brought this project to life.

Began editing this video today and I’m posting it.
For me.
For the part of my mind that’s wrestling with the fact that I used to shared things here for me and for you, and the part that’s being pulled into the negative side effects of social media performative ideals.
We take videos and pictures, some we share and some we don’t. That’s how it should be. Grow that gallery of memories that you can look back to. But two things can be true at once.

The other is, share the thing. Whether polished or not. What should grow, will.

I’m tired out of my mind. But by the mercy of a King, I am walking strong. I get to wake up and do what I dreamt of since I was a child.

We take these videos for a reason. Again, whether to use for social media or not. So I enjoyed editing this, I did it for me. I did it for my brain to create in a different medium.

So you to, enjoy!

What a weekend! Thanks to @silwerskermfees and @kyknettv for hosting us and for the opportunity to make art with our friends.
.
Big love to the @sanktuaryfilms team for the trust and all the love throughout the making of this film. You’re a cut above my pals, and it means the world.
.
Best cast. Best crew. Best effing F’s forever!
.
Being nominated for best cinematography in a feature film was a huge deal for me. As well as our film getting 11 nominations, and 3 wins in various categories. Very very proud of what we did together on this thang. Congratulations to all the winners and noms over the festival this year, you all should be mega proud of yourselves! Also, I ran out of tags.

“When I was a kid, there was no collaboration; it’s you with a camera bossing your friends around. But as an adult, filmmaking is all about appreciating the talents of the people you surround yourself with and knowing you could never have made any of these films by yourself.” Steven Spielberg

When you watch a TV show the audience never gets a true sense of how hectic it can be behind the scenes. In some cases that's where the real movie or TV show is. So here's to the cast and crew of the amazing Projek Dina airing today on Kyknet. I'm blessed to have been a director to two of the eps. What a beautiful whirlwind of drama and laughs. #projekdina3
