Photo memories from this year’s Network Conference in Chicago. Earlier this month, Jeffrey Deskovic attended the Innocence Network Conference with Samantha, his fiancée, joining a powerful gathering of exonerated individuals, advocates, attorneys, and so many others doing innocence work. Pictured above, Jeffrey is seen with fellow exoneree Ellen Reasonover, Samantha, and members of the innocence community. Ellen spent 17 years wrongfully incarcerated on a life sentence before being freed in 1999, after it was revealed that her conviction had been built on false jailhouse informant testimony and withheld evidence. Moments like these matter. The Innocence Network Conference is about more than coming together in one place. It is about shared understanding, healing, education, and continued commitment to freeing the innocent, preventing wrongful convictions, and supporting those who have already endured the unimaginable. We are always grateful for opportunities like this to stand alongside so many people who continue pushing this work forward.
