The Leaders / This happens to me every summer. I live weeks of 18 hour days with @fishforchange where I wake up every morning early and the first words to start the day are “let’s have the best day of our lives” and then it is. Every damn day. Even the hard ones. Because we are pursuing passion in paradise surrounded in teenagers who need it most. My mind is so overstimulated with the power of what’s happening and then I get home and it’s time to process and I’m truly speechless. What just happened! So for my first processing dump of many… I want to give a huge shoutout to our leadership at fish for change. Our leaders hold the space for students to lead with vulnerability and confidence and connection and creativity. Our leaders set the tone and we have the best leaders in the universe. Working along side each of you this summer brought me so much joy and peace. Thank you guys for being part of this brain rewiring goodness. I am so unbelievably grateful for each of you and the space we just held. I love this team! 🤍

I will forever be grateful for Fish for Change and the people of Guanaja. I came on this trip looking to catch new fish but I left with a new mindset, friendships, and memories that I will cherish. I know I will make my way back, yet this time not just for fishing, but to see the people who made the island feel like home. ♥️

7 days ago I was clueless to the whole world and community of Mangrove Bite. Now, with my time over, it seams as if I’ve been there my whole life. The world that @fishforchange is doing is healing. Not only physically for us but soul wise. I feel changed, not the gimmicky “ I went somewhere new” changed. I mean I feel really changed about my outlooks on life and how my world has been sculpted by the people in it.

I went into this trip with so much expectation and excitement for the fishing. Now as I am laying in my bed, home, I don’t miss the fishing, or the scenery, I miss the people. The community on the island of Guanaja are the most beautiful people on the planet. And I’ll die with that statement. From the overwhelming amount of love given to us from the island, home doesn’t feel the same and I don’t think it ever will.

To continue with the change aspect, 7 days ago all the these brothers I’ve gained, were strangers. We’ve connected on more levels than just a love for fishing or people, we’ve truely gained a connection with the island. Everyone from all over truly made it possible for me to experience. I love you Guanaja and im gonna miss you all and can’t wait to bring the love back😭😭😭❤️❤️❤️
