51kg down, but the biggest transformation has been the mindset, the discipline, and the person I’ve become along the way. This journey hasn’t been easy, but every sacrifice, every setback, and every bit of hard work has been worth it.

Same person, different chapter. Proof that consistency changes everything. 💪🏼✨

September was a busy one! 🏃🏻‍♀️🥳

I just came back from my first deload week and to tell you I was scared initially was an understatement. Mentally I went straight to “I’ll lose my progress, I’ll go backwards, I need to keep working hard”.

Two days in I realised how wrong I was by leaning into the support of my coach @ellenesparon 👑

I truely have found outsourcing the support I need one of the most beneficial parts of my journey and progress. Helping stop my brain in the doubt loop and switching it into trusting things with logic and facts.

@ellenesparon helped me think logically and not feel guilty for my body needing rest. For me not to feel guilt for taking a step back… is huge, actually unheard of if you know me.

Once I finally got back into the gym, not looking and analysing my appearance for a week, I noticed how completely different my composition looked in the best way possible … and from doing less movement more resting?!

This process is really helping me learn it’s okay to need rest, life is never going to be perfect and things happen. But with consistency you can’t undo all your hard work in one week. Most people possibly already know this, but for others like me if you need to hear this today - this is for you 🫶🏽

If you’re not digesting and absorbing nutrients properly, you’re not getting the full benefit from what you’re eating & your performance in the gym will suffer.

📍 POOR NUTRIENT ABSORPTION Adequate stomach acid, pancreatic enzymes and a healthy intestinal lining all play a role in breaking down and absorbing nutrients.

Protein for example needs to be broken down into amino acids, which are then used to repair damaged tissue and build new muscle. If digestion and absorption are compromised, simply eating more protein won’t necessarily = more gains.

📍INSULIN SENSITIVITY
Good insulin sensitivity means your body can efficiently utilise the carbohydrates you’re eating.
After you eat carbs, they’re broken down into glucose & insulin shuttles that glucose out of the bloodstream into your muscles and cells where it can be used to fuel training, recovery & essentially growth.
Chronic inflammation, driven by poor gut health can reduce insulin sensitivity. This makes recomposing (building muscle and losing fat) much more difficult.

📍IRON + FERRITIN
Iron is MASSIVE for training performance because it’s required to make haemoglobin and transport oxygen around the body.
If iron stores are depleted, you will notice poorer exercise capacity & endurance, fatigue & slower recovery.

It’s pretty difficult to progressively overload and build muscle when you’re constantly exhausted and struggling to perform at your best.

📍B VITAMINS
B vitamins are essential for helping your body convert the food you eat into usable energy.

📍MAGNESIUM + ZINC
Magnesium plays huge role in muscle contraction, nervous-system regulation and recovery.

Zinc is required for protein synthesis, immune function and optimising hormone health.

📢Again, these are nutrients you need to actually ABSORB, not just consume!

8 weeks difference… lifting 12.5kgs heavier…

What’s different?
We’ve been healing my gut, enhancing my detox pathways and prioritising consistency over everything.

The past 8 weeks @bel_bodiesbybel and @ellenesparon have had me on a gut healing protocol (to help heal my leaky gut) as well as continuing with my nutrition plan that I’ve been on for the past 22 weeks.

If there is anything this current phase has taught me, it’s that you really do need to trust the process. And consistency really is key.

You will be shocked at what your body can achieve when you prioritise putting back in it all the nutrients you need to create an environment for optimal health.
