POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

Two years ago I went to Guadalajara for the ✨ first time to attend @letrasticafest for the ✨ first time.

It was amazing! I was expecting to enjoy it based on everything I'd heard, and it delivered. So much fun and a great atmosphere 💜 Especially enjoyed meeting some of my @typewest classmates and alum. Special shout out to Frank and Petunia, the nicest dog and cat hosts I've had the pleasure to meet.

I couldn't make it this year so instead I'm taking a quick little reel/trip down memory lane. Ah I need to touch down in México again soon - la comida, la gente, nooombre

Hope all the attendees are having a great time! Nos vemos en la próxima 💚 🤍 ♥️

(I tagged some folks, but I know I'm forgetting some speakers and people I met 😁)

Graphic designers, this one’s for you! 👩‍💻

Join us on November 5th at 5 PM at the BSU Interactive Learning Center to hear from @ellenlupton, renowned designer, and curator.

Ellen Lupton is the founding director of the Graphic Design MFA degree program at the Maryland Institute College of Art. She has written numerous books about graphic design, including “Design is Storytelling”, “Graphic Design Storytelling” and “Thinking With Type”.

This free public lecture will center around modern design principles to help designers at every stage learn, grow, and strengthen their visual communication skills.

The lecture will begin at 5 PM, and there will be opportunity to get a book signed by the author at the end of the lecture 📚

Giving a big thank you to Professor Ellen Lupton for visiting STLCC–Meramec’s Graphic Communications Department! Professor Lupton is the Betty Cooke and William O. Steinmetz Design Chair at Maryland Institute College of Art (MICA), as well as a renowned graphic designer, author, and curator.

Last Friday, our program was generously given the opportunity of meeting with and getting student work reviewed by Professor Lupton. We all couldn’t have been happier to receive such insightful and thoughtful advice for young aspiring designers to learn from! 🌱

Another thank you to Becca Belleville, a STLCC–Meramec design student and MICA alum, for organizing and making this event possible.

Friday sent us out on a high note! We started the morning at the Curiosity Building with AIA Jury Chair Arthi Krishnamoorthy and ended the week at Steinberg with Ellen Lupton and Sundae School.

In between: a drawing practice session, a conversation about designing in the age of AI, and studio tours around the city.

That’s a wrap on STL Design Week 2026. Thank you to every host, speaker, volunteer, and person who showed up this week. We’ll see you next year.

𝒕𝒂𝒍𝒌 𝒕𝒐 𝒎𝒆 𝒂𝒃 𝒇𝒐𝒏𝒕𝒔 shirt is NOW AVAILABLE FOR PRE-ORDER!!

I’m really excited ab this, bc ever since i made this shirt, so many of you have requested we make more!

We’re starting small w a limited pre-order for my birthday (i turned 28 on sept 28)🎂 but TBH this is our first step towards building a massive army of font lovers bringing font convos into the cultural zeitgeist.

All proceeds from shirt sales go right back into keeping Arcotype independent. Arcotype is a completely self-funded tool—we believe in designers making tools for designers (bc fk monotype) !!!

special s/o to Jack & @imadvm for making this happen—if you need a front-end dev, i can’t recommend Minh enough:)
