Our speakers didn't come to play. Every session at NXT LEAGUE hit 💥 Last week, we hosted 120+ marketers to discuss all things sports. ⚽️ Where brands are going wrong with sports partnerships - and who's getting it right 🥎 The value sportswomen add in brand building 🏉 How investing in female athletes results in a positive impact on women and girls AND commercial gain If you missed our first event of the year - or were too busy listening to get your notes app out - we've got you. Full event debrief live on Substack now - 🔗 in our bio. Photo of Alice, the keynote speaker at NXT LEAGUE with the quote: "Men’s football gets framed as investment. Women’s football gets framed as cost. Brands need to change the language. Either way you’re spending money."

Women athletes aren’t just part of the culture…they’re shaping it. Hosting this panel was a reminder that women’s sport isn’t a moment… it’s a movement rewriting the rules of influence, fandom and storytelling. Women athletes are the culture-shaping partners brands can’t afford to overlook. As women’s sport continues to break records, the influence of these athletes is rewriting the marketing playbook built on trust, authenticity, and deeper fan connection. Don’t just watch it… invest in it. Huge thank you to the brilliant speakers: @ellenrusby, Co-Founder at @mkbsport_ @charliecopsey, Founder & CEO at Underground Fan Club Ellie Cross, Head of Brand Partnerships at @starlingbank And thank you to @nxtlvlcareer for having me, and giving us all a fab start to the year! #WomenInSport #CultureShapers #BrandMarketing #AthleteInfluence #NXTLeague

So, we brought in the experts to show brands how to properly lean into this powerful moment. We spent the morning at @sohohouse with insane guest speakers who truly get it. Our speaker line-up was elite🙌 Alice Larkworthy, Commercial Director, @cafcofficial Charlotte Lee, Creative Customer Lead at @asos Ellie Cross, Head of Brand Partnerships at @starlingbank Charlie Copsey, Founder of @undergroundfanclub Ellen Rusby, Co Founder at @mkbsport_ Honey Akinbo, Brand & Social Media Manager, presenter + host Huge thank you to @cafcofficial for sponsoring the event, sharing brilliant insights and bringing the room to life with such inspiring stories⚽️ Put it this way many of us walked away supporting a new club. Coffee Mornings ep 9 ☕️ Special edition from 180 House! Just left a @nxtlvlcareer event on the rise of sportswomen in brand marketing. Key insights: It took @asos over a decade to secure their @adidas partnership. Brands like @barclaysuk and @starlingbank are now partnering with female athletes early. Women’s sports TV viewership is declining, but TikTok had 100M views of Women’s Football League last year. The challenge: We need to reframe how we communicate investment in women’s sports ☕️
