Favorite 25 Asheville Records of 2025
Part 1

The Asheville scene produced an incredible quantity of amazing records this year—so much that it was really hard to narrow down to 25 records. This list is entirely unranked. Thanks to all of the musicians who’ve kept Asheville’s scene thriving. I swear I’ve been listening and will pay even more attention in 2026.

You aren’t ready for this-
Ellicott Hooligan is coming to Savannah Porchfest!!
The Western North Carolina trio - featuring David Portner (aka Avey Tare of Animal Collective), Mikey Powers, and Shane McCord - are bringing a wild mix of improvisation, experimentation, and acoustic alchemy straight to your our porch.
It’s part trance, part emotional release, and 100% mind-melting sound exploration.
And get ready for next-level sick visuals: we’ll also have the incredible Abby Portner bringing her signature projection art, immersive set design and handcrafted large-scale visuals to elevate the vibe.
Get ready to drift somewhere between wholeness and nothingness… and dance while you’re there. 💫

We’re excited to share that our friends at @dropofsun + their cassette label DOSed have made a major gift to Lamplight. They’re donating their entire back catalog of tapes to support Lamplight AVL — and all future DOSed sales will directly benefit our programs. This means every purchase from DOSed helps us provide time, space, and support for artists creating powerful new work here in Asheville.

DOSed offers a diverse roster of unique artists and champions their journeys, fostering community and growth. Swipe through to see what’s available. Link in our bio to browse and buy 👀
