When people ask me, “did you enjoy it?” I have a tough time answering. Without softball I would be a completely different person. From growing up watching my Mom and Dad play every week to finally playing myself, this game has shaped me in every imaginable way. Did I always enjoy it? No, growth is never something that comes natural or easy but it defines who we are. The wins, loses, long practices, travel, long car rides home after rough game, and hundreds of amazing people that made everything possible, helped me grow.

If I had any advice to give to a young girl looking at pursuing softball for as long as I have it would be, to always recognize and appreciate your own value, no matter what others may say or think. In every aspect of life, you will encounter individuals who will attempt to dictate what you should be or how you should live. It is crucial that you remain authentic to who you truly are. Believe me, attempting to fit into the molds that others build for you can turn into cages quick. Never, under any circumstances, lose sight of how important and unique you are.

Words cannot express the feelings I have felt throughout this year. I was truly blessed with the best group of girls a grandma could ask for. With that being said I am officially hanging my cleats up for the final time and I wouldn’t have done anything different in anyway. I’m so thankful for each and every person that has played a role in this journey. #21 grandma Milli officially signing off #5thyear #grandma
