i am such a fan of @elliegibson’s thoughtful, emotive work - so i was over the moon when she agreed to create some special limited edition pieces for my upcoming EP 🫀

pre-orders for these pieces are open on bandcamp, and i’ll be selling a very limited amount of these at my @joespub show on oct 5th.

can’t wait for you to see what else @elliegibson + i are working on 👀

**September is upon us, and very soon we’ll begin another journey into HELD. 🌿**

Our last session of HELD in July was extremely special. ✨🌞

It was the culmination of eight months of practising together — holding, listening and being in community — journeying through the depths of winter and into the light of summer.

Over those months, something shifted. We became witnesses: to ourselves, to each other and to the world around us.

We were joined by the wonderful @dominiquebulgin, who brought her beautiful @morningaltars practice, sharing her sensitivity, care and knowledge of what it means to practise in a sensitive, open body in these crazy times.

Her holding of the outdoor space beneath the oak tree was truly magical. 💚

I was also lucky to have the wonderful @yvettesedlak with us to document the process. Her delicate eye for the beautiful details, quiet moments and magic of our time together is something I’m so grateful for. 🙌🏽

And now, we begin again.

So excited to share a recent collaboration with the brilliant illustrator Ellie Gibson @elliegibson 🐋✨

As part of @agihaines and my ongoing research Synthetic Empathy (which has started since last year), we’re exploring apology as a speculative design method for ecological engagement. In our writing for the first project, “Would You, Could You Apologise to the Sad Whales?”, we reflect on whales as intelligent beings, and then widen the lens to cetaceans more broadly- thinking about how humans relate to, harm, and speak to non-human life.

This zine is one part of the ongoing process and appears as part of Ellie’s zine series Dandelion Cypsela. Her drawings capture lamentation as the emotional core of the project, and we’re so grateful for this beautiful collaboration 💙🐋

Introducing L’OFFICIEL’s November cover star, Florence Welch! The queen of melodic crescendos has been shaping the music scene with her signature baroque pop since 2007. Tomorrow, @florence will release her much-anticipated sixth album, ‘Everybody Scream.’ It’s her most personal work to date, a result of the Florence + The Machine artist harnessing her creative power after a health emergency brought her to the brink. “I was in this fog, and I had to find meaning and my own belief system,” she tells L’OFFICIEL.

Her subsequent journey to healing included researching paganism, the occult, and cathartic rituals. She also used her pain to fuel her craft. “The fury that I felt didn’t translate into something sad, you know?” she explains. “I feel so naked with this record, and I also felt a need to return to earth and nature. It’s a sense of strength in the sensuality, as if it were taken from me, and I wanted to reclaim it.”
