ARC Review of The Monster You Made of Me by @elliesandersauthor 🖤

⭐️⭐️⭐️.5

I haven’t read anything quite like this book, the power change in this book was refreshing, if that’s the right word?🤣

The women rule in this book and use the men for what they need from them.

The plot in this book was good, whilst in a commune of women who hunted men for their own needs, pleasure and children, ran by a woman called Eve. There are six chosen women who get to reap the rewards of the hunt.

They need to reproduce and have 3 months to fall pregnant before the hunted men expire.

Events happen which leads Skyla (FMC) to break rules when it comes to one of the hunted men, Zak (MMC).
She falls for him and becomes possessive and obsessed.

I’m looking forward to the next book following this, this was a good palate cleanser and different from what I have read previously! 📚

Holy hell woman!!!! 😳 What in the actual fucking fuck did I just read. This was dark as you would expect from Ellie. I mean seriously woman taking over and claiming the men they want by force. Wow. Never did I think 🤔

I am at a loss for words...

This was an absolute masterpiece. 👏👏

Definitely recommend. But please please please check your trigger warnings because holy hell. 🤣🤣

Ellie has yet again shared a part of her thoughts with us...be afraid. Be very afraid. 😂😂😂

Nothing but love @elliesandersauthor you know I love you. 😘😘

Women capturing men and using them to populate the village then sacrifice them?
Sign me up!
I was excited, I was sucked in straight away.. But i'm so disappointed I didnt enjoy the ending as much as I thought I would
However it is still a great book and has such a good concept to it!
Take it seriously, this is not a romance book! Zak never finds his hea and Skyla? Shes a monster reborn, hopefully we'll see more of her path 🤞🏻
Check your triggers! 🖤

The Monster You Made of Me by @elliesandersauthor
Releasing November 5th!

First, Danny can fuck all the way off! I did feel bad for Zak the whole time though 😅 This one left me unsettled (but I'llkeep coming back for more). Part of the time I'm like "YES!!! This is what I'm talking about!" and others I'm like "👀 no...oh no, we don't do this..." all about the same characters and sometimes during the same events 🫣😅 I loved that this was a community built by women & run by women! I just personally would not care to visit haha

Skyla is a very complex character who is pulled in multiple directions, has to internally decide which of her feelings and urges only benefit herself & the greater good, and has to deal with learning truths that slowly get uncovered as the veil is lifted. She's easily relatable in a few ways, but then there are multiple actions of hers that I can't condone.

As always, check your triggers!! And if you dare, dive in & enjoy 🙌😈

Thank you Ellie for this ARC copy 🖤 I can't wait to see what Pretty Little Prisoner has in store too!!

🖤🔪 WHAT. THE. ACTUAL. HELL. DID. I. JUST. READ? 🔪🖤

📖 THE MONSTER YOU MADE OF ME — @elliesandersauthor

I knew Ellie Sanders wrote pitch-black books. I knew I was walking into darkness.

But, darling… I WAS NOT PREPARED FOR THIS.

The tables have turned. The men are the prey. The women are the hunters. And the captor/captive trope has been dragged somewhere so deeply disturbing that my heart was in my throat more times than I can count.

FEMININE RAGE? OH, SHE UNDERSTOOD THE ASSIGNMENT. 🖤

This is brutal. Confronting. Uncomfortable. And one hell of a role reversal.

Watching the power shift, seeing the men become the captured, the used, the broken and the victimised… I was left questioning everything. And in the current climate, this one hits differently.

Can you love a book that leaves you feeling this discombobulated?

Honestly? I DON’T BLOODY KNOW. 😂

But can I recognise a masterclass in flipping a trope on its head? ABSOLUTELY.

It’s a short read, but don’t let that fool you. This woman packs more darkness into these pages than some authors manage in an entire series.

And naturally, I finished it in one sitting. It’s Ellie Sanders. What else was I supposed to do? Put it down and behave like a normal person? 😂🖤

ELLIE SANDERS, YOU ABSOLUTE MENACE.

You didn’t just flip the script. You set fire to it, threw it into the darkness and dared us to follow.

I salute you, Queen. 👑🖤

As for me? I’m discombobulated, mildly traumatised by fiction, and in desperate need of a strong cup of tea.

THE QUEEN OF PITCH BLACK HAS DONE IT AGAIN.

And Ellie? I HAVE QUESTIONS. 👀

⚠️ Check content warnings before reading. This is an extremely dark story featuring graphic violence, captivity and disturbing power dynamics.

🖤 Have you ever finished a book and genuinely needed a moment to process what you’d just read?

How blessed I felt to find this baby in my inbox from@elliesandersauthor
I’m balls deep trying to finish the Massverse before the looming deadline, but this sounds like the perfect palette cleanser.
Releasing 5th November and considering the rate in which books are being banned right now I’m getting on this quick smart.
Review to come.
