Sending our hearts to California with our sweet Jayne. It was bitter sweet today to say goodbye for the next 18 months as she goes to serve as a missionary in California. The last couple days we have had the best time celebrating with surprise birthday parties, temple trips, field trips, and packing parties. We will miss her but there is no place we would have her be. Godspeed Hermana Christensen. 💛#casantarosamission #togetheriswherewewanttobe #JJ #ldsmissionary

Sweet Sixteen! Sixteen years ago Seth was diagnosed with ALS. Today to celebrate Seth launched a project he has been working on. It is ALSdirectory.org! Our son Sam has be working on this project with Seth and wrote this to summarize the project:

Sixteen years ago today, my dad, Seth, was diagnosed with ALS.
Sixteen years.
I’ve watched ALS change our family in ways I never could have imagined. I’ve watched my dad navigate the loss, the uncertainty, the impossible decisions — and somehow keep choosing to build, to advocate, and to help other families facing the same diagnosis.
Today feels especially meaningful because something my dad has believed in for years is finally real.
The Global ALS/MND Directory is live.
When someone is diagnosed with ALS, they don’t just get a diagnosis. They get told to go figure out an incredibly complicated world of clinics, equipment, clinical trials, home care, hospice, caregiver support, research and resources.
The help exists. But finding it can be unbelievably hard.
So ALS Crowd mapped it.
1,191 organizations across 76 countries.
7 languages.
Clinics, trials, equipment, home care, hospice, caregiver support and research.
A Care Navigator to help families figure out where to start.
Free. No ads. No paywall.
And every organization was researched, verified and categorized by hand.
I think about how different those first years might have felt for our family if something like this had existed then.
That’s what makes today emotional for me. This isn’t just another project my dad has built. It’s something born from 16 years of living with ALS and seeing, up close, what families desperately need.
I’m incredibly proud of my dad. Proud of what he has built, proud of how he continues to turn something so difficult into something that can help other people, and proud that today, on the 16th anniversary of his diagnosis, we can say:
The help exists. And now, it’s findable.
If you know a family facing ALS, please send them this.
If you work in the ALS/MND community, check your organization’s listing and let us know what we got wrong.
And if you simply want to help, share this. On day one, reach is everything.

this father daughter dance 🥹 instant tears. everytime. seriously the most tender unforgettable moment there ever was💛 @ellievalentineee @amychristensen

message from the bride 🫶🏻

“When I was seven years old, my dad was diagnosed with ALS. I quickly learned that the average life expectancy after diagnosis is only 2–5 years. As a little girl, my heart broke when I realized he wouldn’t be at my wedding one day.

You can imagine my excitement when I got engaged to the love of my life, and my dad was still here.

Walking down the aisle with my dad in his self-designed “wheel-bed” and sharing our adapted daddy-daughter dance were two of the most meaningful moments of my life. They were moments I had dreamed about for years but never thought I’d get to experience.

Looking back over the past 16 years of our battle against ALS, it’s more apparent to me than ever that God has sustained our family and given us strength every step of the way.

If you’d like to support families walking this same difficult road, please consider donating to my dad’s nonprofit ALSCrowd ( alscrowd.org ) dedicated to helping families affected by ALS.”
