Day 1 of the West Highland Way 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 Milngavie —> Sallochy (Loch Lomond) 38km At the start of this year I attempted the WHW with some of the boys and didn’t complete it due to injury…. I noticed a good weather window up in Scotland so I decided to give it a go solo. It was a big day to kickstart the trek and felt it was good to get ahead of myself. I was planning to camp at Conic hill but got there earlier than expected. So I decided carried on to Loch Lomond it was fairly busy with people camping at the ‘good spots’ which made me push a little further and whilst trekking through darkness I managed to find a spot near Sallochy. #outdoors #hiking #scotland #thruhike #nature

4 beautiful days solo tripping around Madeira for my birthday! So here’s to 23 and hiking along Levadas, into misty peaks and along black sand beaches in a beautiful country. I don’t think I’ve ever felt peace like it, moving on my own time and pushing myself to go out and see somewhere new. It reminded me quite a lot of the little island in the Caribbean I grew up in and it gave me a sense of home (especially the fruit I spotted on the trees). Not to mention learning to drive an automatic for the first time 😮‍💨 #madeira #hiking #solotravels #travel
