Dear Hadestown,

What a gift it's been to experience every detail of this beautiful story. Nothing could have prepared me for the impact this show has on people. This was my first acting experience that honestly felt bigger than myself. It felt as if everyone knew the weight of this long told tragedy. The most unbelievable part is that everyone experienced it differently, everyone had space to find their own meaning in it, yet we all knew just how powerful it was when we did it. The beauty of this story is that when people are telling it they become unified knowing that they are sharing something that truly affects someone's ideas. When people tell it, they themselves realize it's a sentiment of what life is and the purest form of how we make our way through. It's an old song that cannot be described through words. Just like the Greek gods, this story exceeds any experience of physical reality. It truly feels transcendent. It was more than just a group of kids playing pretend for funsies, it has truly changed the way I view parts of my life. I couldn't be more grateful to do this in any other way. It's a sad song, and to say I'm emotional leaving it is an understatement, But I will always choose to sing it anyway. I'm so glad Ive been given the opportunity to sing it in my lifetime.
