Meet our 2026 Memory Lab facilitators! 📓

Facilitators are wearing our “Reunion Tee,” now live on our site while supplies last! Link in the biooo!

Last week, we held our first @memoriacontinuum Memory Lab, a participatory archival event exploring the ways we preserve and document our experiences. To kick off our recap, I want to give a special shoutout to our facilitators. You all are amazing. I’m grateful to have crossed paths with each of you during my time at Morgan.

I shot some moments of my friends and myself and I swear… this camera is already my favorite camera to grab…I’ve always been the type to capture *everything* <3 🥹😇 it could be the smallest thing, even a tiny ant on the ground, and i’ll still find beauty in it 😢

to me, our memories live through our pictures. every photo is a piece of time we get to keep forever, and i love being able to add to the world’s digital archive in my own way.

thank you #holo for helping me see things a little differently 🤪😏💝

If need someone to capture your moments (big or small) I’m available for shoots 💘💟just DM

The Memory Lab is a one-day participatory archival event inviting students and alumni to actively document and preserve student life at Morgan State University. The lab combines digitization, free community portraiture, and zine-making as tools for storytelling and collective authorship.

This event is presented in collaboration with the Beulah M. Davis Special Collections Department, @morganprealumni, and @msu.underground

Super excited for this community service activation during I Love Morgan Week! Shoutout to my talented classmates, both students and alumni, coming together to lead each station. YOU are the best, truly!!!

Background:

The Memory Lab builds on Jewel Champbell’s research (2019–present) on student-produced yearbooks and the role of print in shaping collective memory. This work explores the shift from traditional yearbooks to digital documentation.

5 year evolution of STAND0VT Community ❤️🌟
wow as i reflect on my contribution to Hip-Hop culture while building my own archive, i am beyond blessed, grateful and humble to be able to build a community, a support system, a family.

As i continue to apply myself to fellowships, residences, and grants … Ive found myself going down memory lane in awe at my growth, and the growth of my people. Thought it was a perfect time to share my progress. 🙏🏾

Thank you to the most high for allowing me to walk in my purpose, thank you to all my collaborators (@msu.underground @still.moving.co @mynameisdiani @itsfreeplustax.ok @deadassmoose @loudmouthbk @tewworldorder ), thank you to the businesses who hold space (@loudmouthbk @communenyc @lemondoarts @thebiddlestore @wondervillenyc @jahmedicine @morganstateu ) , thank you to all friends who has performed on any legendary line up, thank you to any photographer/videographer who pulled up to document such special moments, and thank, you for being along the journey. Never did i ever do this alone , thank you GOD for my support system—my family, my friends, my ancestors, my inspirations!

2026 will be a great year for STAND0VT Community events, 5 years down plenty more to go!

Time is life’s biggest sacrifice. Embrace those who lend you their time without a second thought 💭

So fortunate to have ppl in my life who believe in me enough to help me bring these thoughts and ideas to fruition. It’s never lost on me. How could I not acknowledge such a special moment in time.

If the team don’t work the dream don’t work.

Eternally rooting for everyone pictured.
