2025 was a time 😄 between Sergio graduating from nursing school, weddings, concerts, traveling, meeting and spending time with great people, indulging in my craft and photography bits; it was a full but wonderful year x
Can’t wait to see what 2026 brings!!
Happy new year everyone! 🎆 xo Sammi

Thank you for all your kind messages after my rather matter of fact post yesterday. I just wanted to add some context...

I'm very lucky when things happened to me I was surrounded by wonderful people in my life, who once I accepted I needed help, were able to do so. I will be forever grateful to those friends, family, loyal guests & professionals in mental health who got me back on my feet again.

I am in the best place I have ever been, now, in this moment. I am mentally well, physically well and financially well. But it has been a journey to get here. One which required not only help but also my acceptance of it. I always knew I was made of strong stuff; sheer grit and determination, resilience and hard work are all things I've learned from my 30 year career in Hospitality.

In Hospitality we're so good at looking after others, putting others and the business first. And putting on veneer of polish - we often forget to look after ourselves.

When I accepted my business had to go into voluntary liquidation in 2019 I was devastated - concerned for my team and my suppliers. I wasn't the only one though, Jamie Oliver had to make the sane decision albeit on a bigger scale, the day before and that I remember gave me strength.

There's always a solution it may not be obvious, straightforward or easy and may have far reaching unintended consequences as in my case. But there is always light.

I'm now fortunate enough to be able to help others with their businesses and I see these themes so often.

You can't fix everything (even though you think you can and often do).

It's Ok to ask for help.

Other people have been through similar situations and survived- so can you.

This is only a moment on time - things will get better.

You'll be stronger and more capable for going through this.

When I struggled the first port of call wasn't friends family or anyone else in my life. It was @ltcharity helpline.

Also @britishinstituteofinnkeeping was my next port of call. I was lucky I had friends to stay with but @only_a_pavement_away are incredible in this situation.

This is a lovely photograph of me and Ellen friends reunited in grief. I'm a lucky boy 🙏❤️

Our Crossmen Alumni Sabre sectional crew - I couldn’t have been as prepared for the full corps rehearsals in August without them! Tonight we were at Downingtown West’s Friends & Family Performance! Both the drumline & guard were fantastic! The drumline leaves for WGI Championships tomorrow morning and the guard has MAIN Championships on Sunday.
