This is what I call picture-book-buying-activism. I was so incredibly proud of us when I saw we helped launch this book onto the bestseller lists based off *preorders* alone. Now that it is officially published, can we get it on the NYT Bestseller list??

Reading is Resistance, and through the stories we share and read aloud to our kids, we are impacting the future generations.

Never Again, For Anyone

📚 About the book:

This Jewish children’s book follows Lev and his mother, Ima, as they prepare for Shabbat. Ima shares how Lev’s great-grandmother, Bubbie, had to hide her Jewish identity and believed “Never Again” should mean no one is ever treated that way. After Lev sees a Free Palestine march, Ima explains Palestinian displacement from Israel and the call for Palestinians to return safely to their homes. Inspired by Bubbie, Lev wants to light the Shabbat candles and send light to Palestine. Ima and Lev then join the Free Palestine march, carrying a sign that reads, “Never Again for Anyone.”

NEVER AGAIN, FOR ANYONE by author Stacy Friedman and illustrator Elly Stern is a gentle and loving children’s picture book about a Jewish boy’s compassion for others, including Palestinians.

Lev loves learning about his Jewish culture and traditions. Ima, his mom, tells him about Bubbie, his great-grandmother, who had to pretend she wasn’t Jewish when she was young in order to stay safe. Bubbie heard many people say, “Never again,” but she always maintained, “We can’t ever let anyone be treated like that again.” Bubbie stood up for what she believed in.

When Lev sees a crowd including his friend Ameera marching for Palestine on the street outside his window, he asks Ima if they are speaking out for people being treated unfairly, just like Bubbie. Inspired by Lev’s care and bravery, Ima takes him outside to join the march for Palestinian justice and the principle “never again, for anyone.”

For ages 6 to 10.
