The title of this piece is “ Yellow Pitcher”. This paint painting is about energy becoming because I use vessels as a symbol for myself because of their feminine shape. In this painting, I am the best, asking for wisdom to be poured into me, using the color of yellow, which in Eastern mysticism, symbolizes, power, and the creative force. This is one of my paintings at my show” Yes you Can” which is currently at Rejuvene MD Gallery, spa, where art meets medicine. The Gallery can be found at 7470 Cimarron, plaza Building Thirteen.. please bring your friends and family. This TTY sat in my childhood home.

Before texting, FaceTime, and video relay, this was how my Deaf parents stayed connected to the world.

Growing up as a CODA, I watched conversations happen one typed message at a time. I didn’t realize then that those experiences would shape my career and eventually lead me to found El Paso SLI.

Today, this TTY hangs in my home as a daily reminder of where I came from, how far accessibility has come, and why our work continues to matter.

Every interpreted conversation helps bridge communication and create access for the Deaf community.
