NYC is honestly such a fun trip with teens.

They want to visit the stores they’ve seen online, try all the viral food, get cute pictures and do things that feel a little different.

So for this list, I narrowed it down to 30 places that I think are especially fun for teens, with everything from micro record shops and quirky places to eat to some really fun experiences around New York City.

But you know what’s better than a list of fun things to do? Seeing everything on a map so you know what’s near each other!

So proud of this heavily varied album. I won’t make another one like it. For me, it captures a moment in time, it’s currently stocked at these locations! From beginning to end, there’s a narrative and a flow that was intentionally crafted. I asked you to take the time and investment to let it grow on you.

Earth Libraries proudly presents TELLUS: The Audio Cassette Magazine Anthology, Vol. 1, the first comprehensive anthology devoted to the groundbreaking publication. A radically ambitious multi-media project founded in 1983 in downtown New York, Tellus transformed the humble audio cassette into a magazine, commissioning and publishing new works by musicians, composers, visual artists, poets, writers, choreographers, and performers who were reshaping the boundaries of contemporary art.

Due on November 20, 2026, the thirty-track collection has been newly mastered from the original Tellus cassette masters, marking the first time these recordings have been officially available on streaming services in their original form. Earth Libraries further celebrates Tellus’ enduring legacy with a limited-edition deluxe double LP, created in close collaboration with Tellus founders Joseph Nechvatal, Carol Parkinson, and Claudia Gould.

The first Tellus compilation in more than twenty years—and the most comprehensive anthology ever assembled—the collection spans 30 newly mastered recordings across two metallic silver vinyl LPs, tracing the publication’s remarkable journey through experimental music, sound art, spoken word, and downtown New York culture. Housed in deluxe packaging, the release includes a booklet featuring new liner notes by Thurston Moore, original artist biographies, and an 11” × 17” reproduction of an original Tellus promotional poster. More than a collector’s edition, the anthology stands as both an archival document and an invitation for a new generation of listeners to discover one of the most visionary publishing projects in experimental music history, carrying Tellus’ spirit of fearless artistic exploration into the future.

Today, we share the first two singles from the compilation: Cargo Cult’s “Plaid City” and Bond Bergland’s “Moonlight Ride”. Follow along for the ride and make sure you get your hands on one of these LPs… they will be limited and they’re super sick.

Cargo Cult was a New York band formed by songwriter Randy Ludacer in 1983, working an angular, art-leaning strain of downtown pop. “Plaid City” appeared on Tellus #8, USA/Germany (1985),

Today, Earth Libraries unveils the long-lost recordings from Bobby Rush’s mid-1970s collaboration with legendary bassist, producer, and arranger Cleveland Eaton: “She Put the Whammy on Me” // “Gotta Have Money.”

These recordings offer a rare glimpse into a lesser-documented side of Rush’s career—the dancefloor-minded, disco-infused music he and Eaton were making amid Chicago’s fertile late-’60s and ’70s musical underground. While the pair released other material through London Records during this era, these sessions were made specifically for DJs and club play and remarkably, remained unreleased for nearly 50 years.

The tapes were discovered through Earth Libraries’ ongoing archival work around Cleveland Eaton’s catalog, led by longtime Eaton collaborator and archivist Lee Shook (@theaudiovore) alongside label founder Bryant Saxon. While sorting through deteriorating basement tape archives, the team uncovered fully realized Bobby Rush sessions that had sat untouched for decades. Rush himself hadn’t heard the recordings since the day they were made.

But today, they’re yours. Give the tracks a spin, grab your copy, and come groove with us tonight at Nightclub 101. 🪩

We had dinner with Grunkle Bill at a place that did actually make me sick, but I had a wonderful time reminiscing about his brother, my Grandfather (rip), and talking about pictures. I miss him lots. I am so happy that I got to see Solo, my grandfather’s cat, now my Grunkle Bill’s cat. He’s a very sweet thing.
