The lights, the LIVE countdown, the wardrobe staples (literally!), the women-owned brands, the people behind the magic…

A morning at TODAY is never just a morning at TODAY.

GRWM: Behind the Scenes at NBC’s TODAY Show!
From first yawn to live on set to the train ride home, come along for a behind-the-scenes look at my recent TODAY Show segment celebrating Women-Owned Small Businesses.

A day in the life of a TV contributor, and a reminder of why I love and am insanely blessed to do what I do.

A huge thank-you to the incredible women-owned brands who joined me for this special segment.
These are businesses worth knowing, supporting, and shopping!

And to my amazing producers Ashlyn, Alicia, and Cecilia: I could not be more thrilled! It was such a joy to hug you in person and say thank you: so much gratitude.

And to the wardrobe team: since I was flying solo, I didn’t manage to film the behind-the-scenes magic of them stapling me into my Bavarian-themed dress to ensure just the right amount of black lace showed in the bodice. To tasteful styling, expert pinning, and a little wardrobe wizardry: danke!

What a morning! 🌞 There’s something about fall in New York that energizes the soul. I’m heading home with a full heart, so much gratitude, and a fresh appreciation for the people who make mornings like this so precious.

Always wear your invisible crown.

My grandmother grew her own kind of victory garden. She made jams, jellies, apple butter, coconut cakes, and rolls from the fruits of her garden. She also grew me.

I was blessed to come home from school to all of it.

I wish I had some of my grandmother’s recipes. Pinterest can give me instructions, but it cannot give me her hands, her habits, or the memories held inside what she made.

We are responsible for what we allow to grow into the next generation. Sometimes legacy means tending what is healthy. Sometimes it means pulling up what would choke it.

Many of us have become disconnected from the labor required to grow a healthy family garden. We visit it occasionally, admire what bloomed, or assume it will continue without us.

But inheritance does not tend itself.

The Family Legacy System gives you a place to preserve what you want to keep growing. Comment LEGACY for the link.
