IVCRC and IVCSD worked together over the summer with Elsa Winter to create this mural! Her talent and creativity can be expressed through this project and here is her statement on it: “The opportunity of painting a mural made me reflect on what I intended on saying to the community around me, and what the point of public art is about in the first place. I wanted to paint the veins of a giant leaf bleeding into a map of Isla Vista to communicate our inherent connection to nature as a community. I wanted to somehow show how we are all connected and intertwined, both with each other and our environment. I feel that recognizing this relationship is essential to live in from a place of harmony, balance, and reciprocity.”
