Ready for tonight? Still plenty of time to go get snacks, or you can improvise something out of the cupboard later. Anyway. We're hyped! #linkinbio

~POSTPONED~
What a shame... Our planned concert (MOA ft. Diam Gamelan Orchestra, 16 January 2021, @tivolivredenburg ) has to be cancelled due to the latest measures. Bad news for us, since the preparations were going really well. We are now looking for a new concert date, which will probably be in the spring of 2021. More on this later. For now we wish you all the best possible holidays and see you in the new year!🎄💫

So excited for this!🎏 In my newest project, my two ensembles 'Koen Boeijinga's MOA' and ‘DIAM Gamelan Orchestra’ will fuse their sounds and collaborate for a great concert with no less than twenty wonderful musicians. This concert will be performed in @tivolivredenburg and is part of the program of Gaudeamus @gaudeamusnl and BUI @watishetweerinutrecht . Here you can watch a fragment recorded during last rehearsal with the DIAM Gamelan group at the Onderbuik @onderbui.k . The event will soon be online (also for ticket sale). Let’s hope the COVID-situation will allow us to perform in January. Stay tuned for more!📯

2/2 (sound on!) shaping time, composition performance
For this installation I'm creating a way to play with the space. The lines operate as a bow for instruments, a very long bow. The audience is invited to walk through the sounds in the composition.

Here's another little look back at the Walking Concert we did for @gaudeamusnl almost two months ago. Look out for a longer video document of this impro-fantasy, coming soon!

Today was good day to have a practice outside for my composition Shaping time!
We walked with our instruments along the lines, to get more familiar with the installation. The line, the instrument and the performer work together to create sound.
Some of you might wonder what these lines are made of: they are made of nylon thread with a lot of resin operating as a bow.
For the research and composition Shaping time I'm questioning myself about the length of notes in space and time.
Some of these questions: How long can a note be? What is length as we speak about time? What means length in space? How is the sound I'm creating related to the place it's in? Can the space be involved in playing?
The results of all these questions, researches and experiments is shown in a first performance >
I'm not organizing an event but I wanted to let you know that we will be performing here with on Monday between 14.30 and 15.30h. If you happen to make a walk here at the same time you could get a glimpse of this performance project I'm creating 🙃
Location: Sterrenbrug
