First I want to say thank you to the people that made this possible.

To @kirkhuff88 @rodrigo_vaghi and @coolmike_scmma for preparing me for this opportunity for the past month. Once again without all of you I wouldn’t be where I am today

Now for the match, my opponent was very strong and had a unique build, this posed some issues for me during the match when trying to enter his legs with my regular k guard along with being nearly impossible to catch a triangle, however I made that adjustment to go 50/50 instead of trying to go for my normal ankle lock, I was extremely nervous and the adrenaline dump was insane, that wasn’t my best performance and I know I could do better, with that being said I’m happy with how I did because I knew with the huge change of environment that it would be like that anyway.

Wrestling has a funny way of showing me exactly where I am comfortable… and exactly where I still need to practice.

Every time I step on the mat, I’m reminded that learning does not happen when everything feels comfortable. It happens when I am willing to try something new, look a little awkward, make mistakes, and keep showing up anyway.

People aren’t afraid of failing, they are afraid of being watched while trying.

Sometimes it is just choosing to stay coachable. Choosing to be honest with yourself. Choosing to lean into the areas you would rather avoid.

Thats how the best teams are made!

The moments that stretch you are usually the moments that shape you. If you are willing to keep stepping into hard things, you give yourself a chance to become something better.

BUT you always have to have fun while in the process!

Having the right mentality does not mean you never struggle. It means knowing how to respond when we do struggle. Your mindset is not a side piece of your performance. It is the foundation.
