Creative reset in the jungle? Discover the healing power of painting in nature. You, the canvas & the wild beauty of El Valle. By @lissentino

POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

Tiempo de empezar otra pintura, la primera en este lado de la isla. Cada lugar del mundo en donde he pintado encuentra formas de manifestarse en el canvas y El Valle, sin duda, no es la excepción.

While this reel is all I’ll share about this piece for now…

Here is a painting tip I learned along the way:
(Disclaimer: this is not a rule, y’all go ahead and do what works for you) 😉

Paint your canvas pink… here is why:

1- Adding a thin layer of paint on top of your sketch before starting your work will block the sketch in, avoiding you smooshing the pencil drawing around or erasing it as you go.

2- In painting, very few things, if any, are truly “white”, having a base tone can help you get a better reference point for your other colors, providing more vivid and accurate results. Also it helps a little with those annoying empty white dots you can get when working with acrylic paint.

Lastly, you can use a different base color depending on what you will be painting. Pink generally works for me ❤️ Not my favorite color tho’

If you are interested in exploring your creativity through art without the constrains of techniques… you can follow my project @elvalleartexperience and stay tuned for what is coming. You don’t need to be a “painter” to enjoy paint or be an “artist” to enjoy making other types of art. Art is for all, art is human🧚🏽

Original: Be water
Medium: Acrylic on canvas
Available for purchase

Atabey is the root of all that lives.
She is the water that nourishes, the moon that guides, the fertile womb that sustains.

Within her also dwells the storm: the force that shakes, that clears, that makes way for the new.

This piece is my way of honoring her duality, the tenderness that gives life and the intensity that transforms.
