One of the most impactful things www.ompa.org does is fight for the Film, TV, Commercial, Animation, and Media industries in Oregon! And we are doing things so well that the Governor is calling US!!! She called to say how important we are to the State!!!

There’s room for all of us at the table. #oregonfilm

I could say so much about this past weekend and opportunity- but I’ll just say this:

The Oregon film community just got stronger. I’m beyond honored to learn and grow with this inaugural Sundance collab cohort from the most amazing industry professionals.

I feel inspired and supported. 💫✨✨✨

Original caption from @portlandeventsandfilmoffice :

This past weekend, The Bridge: From Oregon to Industry brought together 12 filmmakers from across the state — from Portland and Eugene to Ashland and Bandon — for 72 hours of connection, collaboration, and conversations about the future of film.

Participants connected with Oscar and Emmy Award-winning filmmakers, working professionals, and fellow creators in conversations about storytelling, career building, and building lasting industry relationships.

A bridge is “a structure that creates a path across an obstacle,” and that was the heart of this program: creating space for Oregon filmmakers to make the journey into the industry feel just a little more possible.

This partnership between @sundancecollab @portlandeventsandfilmoffice and @oregonfilm created something truly special. Thank you to everyone who was part of it!

Wow! What an incredible time was had at the inaugural Sundance Collab: The Bridge from Oregon to Industry workshop 🥰

Truly fell in love with all these filmmakers and their projects and learned a TON about the biz from so many insightful mentors. Felt like each came with a basket full of goodies to share but the best was when we saw how much we can do for each other too 🫶🏼

Thank you @pattyleewest @ericavelson @elysemckay32 @timbwilliams and to the @sundancecollab @oregonfilm @portlandeventsandfilmoffice teams for curating such a transformative experience when our community in Oregon needed it most. Such a gift and I can’t wait to put all these new tools and skills to work. Now LET’S GO 🔥🔥🔥

Still savoring the beautiful, warm and unforgettable welcome @pdxpanorama had for our beloved Abril 🥰 — a magical week where we got to hang with new and old friends. Also, what a charming city!! ✨Arguably the most beautiful airport I’ve ever seen, where you can find, among other things, a CINEMA??? WTF?! ❤️ A sweet reminder that air travel doesn’t HAVE to be a nightmare 🙄 — Great city, amazing festival. THANK YOU! 🙏 (shoutout a los queridos ticos que llegaron a apoyar!! 🇨🇷🇨🇷🇨🇷🫶🫶🫶)

The @pdxpanorama FF is bringing some of the most buzzy and gorgeous films (and filmmakers!) to Portland and the energy has been at 11 the entire week. I’m so grateful I get to witness and be a part of it along side my Portland besties and new besties. Two of my films play in the festival this Saturday April 18, 12:00pm so check out the Panorama schedule and - you know what to do. 😉

This year, Portland Panorama Film Festival included the annual extravaganza that is DOC CAMP hosted by @oregonmedialab and I am brimming with awe and thanks and pride.

I’ve been volunteering with Doc Camp for the past several years and it never fails to be the heart-healing, enriching, and project strengthening forum that it promises to be. It was huge this year, and the filmmakers who came through from all over the world were full of life and their films are full of hope and I can’t wait to see them all come to fruition. If you’ve got a work-in-progress and you’re looking for community and support, submit to the next Doc Camp and come join us!

I’ve made so many new friends! I’m in film heaven!

(Sorry @suttonyork_ , that last pic was too cute not to post! Jess Moore handing out heart shaped lollies to promote her film Conversations with Exes won us all.)
