And on June 13, Elzanne Fields, Andile Ndlovu, and Rachelle D'Artnall share a stage for the first time. What does a lifetime of discipline look like? On June 13, Elzanne Fields and Andile Ndlovu will perform Grand Pas Classique: one of the most technically demanding pas de deux in the entire classical ballet repertoire. Choreographed by Victor Gsovsky in Paris in 1949, the piece offers nowhere to hide. No story. No characters. No elaborate staging. Just two artists standing inside one of ballet's highest standards and answering a simple question: What have you built? Every hour in the studio. Every setback. Every injury. Every correction. Every decision to keep going when progress felt invisible. It all becomes visible here. Grand Pas Classique rewards discipline over drama. Commitment over talent. The quiet, unglamorous work that rarely gets applause but shapes everything that follows. Which is why Elzanne chose it. “An ideal you strive toward every day,” she says. “Something that molds you like a diamond under pressure. Not a ceiling. A direction.” There is something deeply human about that. Because perfection suggests arrival. But this piece is about pursuit. About showing up fully for something beautiful, difficult, and worth doing—even knowing you are still becoming. After years of performance, healing, growth, and perseverance, Elzanne and Andile step onto the stage not because the journey is complete. But because it isn't. And that is what makes it worth witnessing. ✨ Faith • Hope • Love 📍 June 13 | Austin, TX https://luma.com/7qmyqxen Supporting survivors of human trafficking through Redeeming Arts and Answer International Tickets: https://luma.com/7qmyqxen

The name Redeeming Dance was never just a name. It was born from a story. Some studios describe what they do. Redeeming Dance describes why it exists. Long before there was a studio in Austin, before there were recitals, performances, and generations of students discovering their love of dance, there was a young dancer in South Africa learning a lesson that would shape the rest of her life: Excellence and perfection are not the same thing. Perfection promises arrival. Excellence invites growth. Perfection says, be flawless. Excellence says, be faithful to the process. For years, Elzanne Fields pursued excellence at the highest levels of her craft. She trained as a ballet major at Tshwane University of Technology and performed as Soloist and Principle dancers with some of South Africa's leading dance companies, including Bovim Ballet, Cape Dance Company, the South African National Dance Trust, and Joburg Ballet. She went on to choreograph award-winning works, teach elite young dancers, and build a reputation as one of South Africa's rising choreographic voices. But the accomplishments aren't what built Redeeming Dance. The philosophy did. Because somewhere along the way, dance became more than a profession. It became a place of restoration. A reminder that growth matters more than perfection. That beauty can emerge from pressure. That grace and discipline can coexist. When Elzanne founded Redeeming Dance, she built it around that belief. A studio where students are challenged to pursue excellence without losing their joy. A place where artistry and character grow together. A community where every dancer is reminded that their worth is not measured by a score, a title, or a flawless performance. And now, on June 13, the woman who has spent years pouring into others steps back onto the stage herself. Not simply as a teacher. Not simply as a director. But as an artist. A performer. A living reminder of the message at the heart of everything we do: The goal was never perfection. The goal was always excellence. The goal was always transformation. And as her Redeeming Dance family, we couldn't be more proud to celebrate this moment with her. 🔽

"She Spent 25 Years Dancing. Then She Started Asking Different Questions." Rachelle D'Artnall has trained, competed and performed professionally for more than 25 years. South Africa. Dubai. Australia. Los Angeles. The United States. She has danced on major stages, worked with internationally recognized artists, and built a career many young dancers dream about. But beneath the performances, another story was unfolding. Like many dancers, Rachelle wrestled with pressure, perfectionism, anxiety, and the feeling that her worth was somehow tied to how well she performed. The more she experienced it in herself, and saw it in dancers around her, the more curious she became. Why do dancers carry so much internally? Why does movement affect us so deeply? And why does dance seem capable of reaching places that words alone sometimes cannot? That curiosity led her into Sport Science and Sport Psychology, where she began studying the relationship between performance, the nervous system, mindset, and human behavior. What she discovered changed the course of her life. Today, Rachelle is the founder of Umbrella Project, a mental empowerment platform for dancers built around a simple belief: dancers should be supported not only as performers, but as human beings. Her work explores how movement shapes identity, how nervous system regulation affects learning and performance, and how resilience, self-awareness, and emotional wellbeing can be developed with the same intentionality as technique. She still dances. But now she understands something she spent years living before she could explain it: Dance doesn't only train the body. It shapes the person. On June 13, Rachelle joins Elzanne Fields and Andile Ndlovu at Faith, Hope & Love in Austin. Three South Africans. Three extraordinary artists. Three stories that remind us that dance is about far more than what happens on stage. On June 13, Rachelle joins Elzanne Fields and Andile Ndlovu at Faith, Hope & Love in Austin. Got to roll some tape on my teacher as she rehearsed for our Spring Performance 🩰 This is a still from while she was turning at about 1.21 gigawatts per hour (is that not the metric they use in South Africa…?). So grateful I get to work with such a legend, and that you can come see her, too — at LifeAustin Mueller on June 13th!

Something has been building for a while now. I haven’t said much about it publicly, because I wanted to be sure. But it’s real. It’s happening. And it’s the most meaningful thing I’ve done with dance in a very long time. More soon. 💛

I'm not one for trends, but 2016 got me feeling nostalgic 🤍 The last time I performed with @capedancecompany , a place that shaped me. The last time my mom, brother and I lived in the same city. And that one email from Rolex that ended in me walking into the studios of @batshevadancecompany ... Time flies. Let's cherish the memories ✨ . @debbieclairturner @sydellewillowsmith
