Traveling from Ile-Ife to Ikeja, Lagos for the She Code Africa Summit 2026 was a moment I’ll remember for a long time.

When I first saw the summit flyer, I honestly hesitated. I had a few challenges at the time and almost talked myself out of going.

But when the opportunity came to join the summit as a panelist, I couldn’t say no. Standing on that stage felt especially meaningful because my journey in tech didn’t start with confidence.

As a Computer Engineering student at Obafemi Awolowo University, I remember sitting in conversations with classmates and feeling completely out of place. Sometimes, I couldn’t contribute at all.

I remember thinking If I keep going like this, I'll walk out in five years with just a paper degree and nothing more. That thought became a wake-up call.

And one of the biggest things that changed my journey was community. Women like Olamide Lawal, Aisha Aderemi and Mojirade Adekanmi helped me see what was possible and reminded me that I belonged in these spaces too.

One piece of advice from Olamide that has stayed with me is "Build something, no matter how small, and put yourself out there. Don't wait until its huge".

I found myself doing exactly that, showing up, sharing my experience, and speaking on a stage at the She Code Africa Summit.

This year's summit, themed “A Decade of Impact: African Women Architecting the Digital Future,” was a beautiful reminder of the importance of creating spaces where women can learn, connect, build and grow.

And honestly, the people made it even more special. The support from the SCA OAU community, meeting LinkedIn connections in person Nunsi Shiaki, connecting with amazing women, and simply being surrounded by people building meaningful things made the experience unforgettable.

A huge thank you to Ada Nduka Oyom, founder and executive director of She Code Africa, my fellow speakers, Perpetual Meninwa, Olivia Ekwuyasi, Chisom Nwachukwu, Mary Mbaoma and the moderator Oreoluwa Adetula, Maryann Ijeoma Nwokoye, the entire She Code Africa team, the community, partners and sponsors who made the summit possible. And to everyone who encouraged and cheered me on, thank you.

We built AI agents. Live. 🔥

For our first physical event of our sub-community, and as part of the #BuildWithAIOAU pre-series, we explored how regular chatbots become smarter with memory, RAG, and tools. And then we built them.

Shoutout to our community members who turned up for the workshop. 🤩

Different faces. Different expectations. One shared energy. ✨

From learning new skills to finding clarity, building meaningful connections, and stepping boldly into tech, every girl came with something she’s looking forward to… and something she’s ready to become 💕

This is more than a summit. It’s a room full of intention and soft power. 💫

What are you hoping to gain?

They say, whenever you wake up — that is your morning.

I know it’s already March, but I had to pause, reflect, and give thanks.

Thank you to everyone who believed in me in 2025 — every team, individual, organization, and company I had the opportunity to work with.

Special thanks to my friends and family for always cheering me on, and to @preshdevvv for inspiring this carousel.

Let’s do even more in 2026 🎉
