This whole last year has been so special. I am so happy to be surrounded by people who inspire me. My own sons make me want to be a better person every day. Congratulations, Tate! Your hard work has paid off…even early! ❤️ Such a beautiful ceremony! Thank you, @emilyhillphotos for the photos ❤️😍

Apparently photographers need photos of themselves, too.

I’m much more comfortable behind the camera, but there’s something about being on the other side of it that makes you appreciate being in the frame. I handed my camera to a client on a whim last week during a shoot and asked them to snap a few photos before I could talk myself out of it.

So here’s a reminder… you don’t have to wait until you feel “ready” to have your picture taken.

I’ll tell you where to stand. What to do with your hands. When to move. When to laugh.

You just have to show up!

Book the photoshoot. I’ll take it from there.

4 words I love to say, “hunting season is here!” Going to be a hot one tonight, but I’ve got a good feeling. Stay tuned…

Yesterday, I had the privilege of taking my mom to her last chemo treatment. My sisters have been very busy with appointments between Mom and CC and I got to help. The infusion room could easily be a little daunting. There are people everywhere, lined up for treatments, and praying for miracles every day. I don’t know how the nurses do it, but there was not one who wasn’t smiling. My mom has exchanged crochet projects with other patients, and I saw a little man handing out goodies to his fellow warriors yesterday. Aunt SuAnny came and they shared stories from when they were wild and crazy gals (spoiler alert: they still are)! She rang that bell with passion! 🤣❤️🎉 We had a late lunch and worked in the booth for a while per her request, and now we will prepare ourselves for lots of radiation and eventually a clean bill of health! Thank you to every friend and family member who has brought her lunch, driven her to an appointment, or sent encouragement! We were pretending to be at Dollywood, because she is missing a trip this year with her church group. I know she will make that trip up in no time!! ❤️🦋

There are days in your life that you feel protected and surrounded by God’s grace. This should be every day for a believer. I was reminded this week that I am safe and covered. My precious Bernie understands and urges me to take whatever time and resources I need to be there for my family back home. People say ‘back home’ and mean their hometown. I have a new fondness for that saying. My self-sufficient boys have rocked a summer without me right by their sides. This is how it should be, but revealing that reality all at once has been tougher on me than I expected. I’m so proud of them and so happy for all of the transitions and milestones! My mom’s hair needed to go. Done ✅ and let’s make it a party why don’t we?! The very next day, after an appointment urging her to take it easier than she knows how, in a matter of an hour we had my mom’s lunches covered for nearly 3 weeks…and we didn’t even scratch the surface of those willing. Glory to God ❤️ This certainly wasn’t the plan for my mom, but overcoming has always been the plan!

Our precious mom. She is grateful for education. The class she took told her when these things would happen, and she begun finding clumps of hair right on cue. We brought her a basket full of various nausea remedies, scalp treatments, and scarves. We watched videos together to learn how to tie them. Then, it was time. Lane’s precious wife, Emily, gently worked her magic. There were talks of a mohawk, and a surprise FaceTime with our brother who made us all laugh at mom’s temporary ‘Tennessee waterfall’. There were also turns taken hiding behind the mirror to shed a tear. And in the end, she smiled with her sparkling eyes and decided that she didn’t need a scarf today and said, ‘I’ve never been afraid to be myself.’ Thank you, Jesus, for her strength and example. Thank you for always being by our side when we feel overwhelmed. Thank you for your grace, for family, for my mom’s tribe of support, and how so many people truly care about others. ❤️

Here we go! Round #1. A very wise person told mom that “Joy is a Rebellion”! She has made quite a few people laugh today. #cancerisahoe👊🏽

My sisters and I did a “Color Photo Challenge” today. Here is what we came up with! 💚🩷🤎

Our beautiful mother is dealing with stage one, triple negative breast cancer. In a matter of a few weeks, she was diagnosed, scanned, poked, prodded, decisions have been made at a rapid pace, and she had her surgery yesterday. Lumpectomy with lymph node removal and port placement. We were sitting in the hospital yesterday and she said, ‘I am still learning what some of these words even mean.’
The type she has can come back as it pleases, and not necessarily in the breast tissue. She will start chemo on the 23rd, with 4 rounds and possible radiation to follow.
We have watched many battle this horrible challenge and win. Some have even warned her to gear up for a year of prayer, endurance, and overall annoyance. Please pray for her spirit to stay pure and strong. Pray these treatments ARE the solution! She has so many amazing friends and family who love her so much! You’ve got this, mom! ❤️

Madilyn Hill put on a show in Texas. 🔥🏀

Making big plays, hitting the floor for loose balls, and doing whatever it took to help her team compete. Her hustle, heart, and toughness were on full display all weekend for the Arkansas Banshees. 💜 #BansheesBasketball #MadilynHill #HustlePlayer
