Senior Spotlight - Eme Gamez🎾

Position: #1 Singles

Years playing: 10 years

Favorite tennis memory: I can’t pick one but sectionals my junior year, van rides, and when we all go watch state!

Pre-game ritual: Do my hair, get my ankles taped by Justin, listen to good music, lots of jumping

Advice for younger athletes: Hard work does pay off, and even the best make mistakes so don’t be afraid to.

saved the best for last :)

From almost choosing not to go out this year to choosing to finish the season on a torn meniscus, senior season was by far the best. Thank you to my teammates who made the season go by so fast, because it was so fun. I can honestly say that the best part of my day was coming to practice to see my teammates and coaches. I’m going to miss going to practices, shootarounds, games, Culver’s outings, team meals, Bible study, and everything else we did to make it the best year (even Mustang minutes and 11s). Thank you to my coaches for being people I can look up to on and off the court, and thank you for caring so much about the culture of the program. Thank you Menomonie basketball for all the highs and lows that taught me what being a good leader, teammate, and friend looks like. And lastly, thank you to everyone who supported me throughout my basketball career: parents, siblings, grandparents, aunts+uncles, cousins, and friends…your encouragement meant so much and I will always be thankful for it. I am thankful God gave me the strength to finish my basketball career strong, because I will forever be grateful for basketball and the impact it has made on me!
