Happy #whythetathursday from our @emelinevaleck 💌

“It’s been almost two years since I joined Theta, and with each day that passes I am even more grateful to my freshman year self for deciding to rush. The time has made it clear just how lucky I am to be a part of a group of women who celebrate and show up for each other. My favorite Theta memories are the simple ones where I’m reminded of the inclusion that makes this house what it is. There is always a seat at the chapter dinner table, a spot on the TV room couch, or an invite to walk to class with someone new.

But my favorite part of joining a sorority is the older sisters it has given me. Moving across the country to a huge school was daunting, until I realized Theta meant I’d never have to navigate it alone. Someone had always been in my shoes before, offering advice and encouragement.

Rushing at Ucla is also so much more than just joining one chapter. Panhellenic has given me friends across campus and a support system that has gotten me through college!!!

With lots of TLAM,
Emeline”
