Southern stories are living on and being reimagined. See how three creators are blending creativity, pride, and community to preserve Creole history, Appalachian folktales, and the Memphis Black art scene for the next generation. Watch “Are Creators the New Gatekeepers of Southern Stories” now on the PBS Voices YouTube channel!

Filmmaker: @ciaraingram

The Story in Us is a documentary series celebrating storytelling traditions with authenticity and care. Through each film, explore another culture’s lesser-known histories, identity, and meaning, told by the people who know them best.

Second photo exhibition with @monadnyc —Echoes of Culture was the theme, and it was so inspiring to see so many artists share their history and pieces of their culture at last Friday’s opening.

Two shows in one year, who would’ve thought? Big thanks to Monad NYC and @dokyii for letting me run it back 🧡🙏🏽

So happy to finally see two of my favorite images as prints 😍

#rp My future self walks in rooms and takes up space like she belongs there—because she does ✨🫂

A big thank you to @bypnetwork’s New York chapter for having me join the Controlling the Narrative panel to discuss the importance of owning Black stories in digital spaces and beyond. I left that talk feeling so inspired and seen—largely thanks to @ciaraingram, @zhailon, and @hey.sydni for being so open 🫶🏾

One panel down, praying many more is to come this year 🙏🏾

#rp “Until the lion learns to write, every story will glorify the hunter.”

IYKYK. And I know many still won’t get it.

Thank you to @bypnetwork’s NYC chapter for having me on the Controlling the Narrative panel — a conversation that hits close to home for creatives and creators rewriting the rules and reclaiming their stories.

Big love to @robnewmaniii , cultural architect and curator at @artfullwallsgallery in Harlem, for holding space and sparking real dialogue. Grateful to share the stage with brilliant minds like @thesaraiashari @zhailon @hey.sydni @thekayanova.

Kicked off the week inside the iconic New York Stock Exchange with @reachtvnetwork’s Upfront — and somehow it felt more like a family reunion than a media event 🙌🏽✨

From learning about their latest innovations to seeing every Super Bowl ring ever made (!!), it was an unforgettable experience. Huge thank you to @lynnwoodbibbens1 and Reach TV for the invite and the red carpet treatment.

Sports as a connector was a big theme of the day — why do y’all think it brings people together so powerfully? Drop your thoughts in the comments 💬

Can’t wait to see what Reach TV has in store for 2025 and beyond. Keep your eyes open 👀📺
