Arguably the birthplace of musical theatre. Our upcoming programming has a little something for everyone. We are an ATG Entertainment venue.

Back in 2024, I got to see Kristin Chenoweth in the pre-Broadway run of The Queen of Versailles at the beautiful Emerson Colonial Theatre in Boston. As soon as I saw the show, I was so excited to frame my playbill. I had so much inspiration to pull from. I tested out multiple shades of pink, as well as liners and fillets (liners and fillets go on the inside of a frame/mat to add more design and dimension). I ultimately decided against using one because I wanted the gorgeous gold ornate frame to be the star. 👑⚜️ #broadway #musical #kristinchenoweth #framing

Such a fun night at the theater with my favorite date! Took Zayden to see Operation Mincemeat at the Emerson Colonial Theatre — clever, hilarious, and such an unbelievable true story. We both loved it! 🎭 @mincemeatbway @emersoncolonial #operationmincemeat #musicaltheatre #boston #theaternight #broadwayinboston

✨ Join me at the theatre to see the North American tour of @mincemeatbway now playing at @emersoncolonia via @broadwayboston! 🧳 @mincemeatbway is the award-winning musical based on, and named after, a covert operation that took place during World War II. Taking creative liberties, the story follows a clever Allied ruse designed to mislead the Nazis about a tide-turning invasion. By planting fake documents on the body of a man dressed as a British general, the Allies successfully sent their enemy on a false trail. 💫 Know Before You Go: 📍 @emersoncolonial, 106 Boylston Street, Boston, MA 02116 🗓️ In Boston through October 25, 2026 ⏰ Run Time: Approximately 2 hours and 35 minutes (including a 15-minute intermission) 🎟️ @broadwayboston 💙 Thank you to the team at @broadwayboston for having me! To find out if @mincemeatbway is coming to a city near you, you can visit operationmincemeat.com/tour/us/ @mariahlcopeland @katiekleiger @jakebentleyyoung @lukeantonyneville @erinpalmerramirez @lo__sto @noah.berry2 @genevieve.ellis @classyaustin_ #broadway #musicaltheatre #broadwaytour #operationmincemeat #bostonevets

VOX and BLO are making AD history: the first season of opera in Boston with all mainstream productions Audio Described. Yes, all performances for all four shows this season are Audio Described! Thank you to Kim Charlson and to 30 more Blind, Low Vision, and sighted patrons who opted in to the William Tell Audio Description. Next show: A Streetcar Named Desire, with AD team Matthew Shifrin (Blind Quality Control Expert) with Audio Describers Gwen Coburn and Joshua Olumide. Image Description 1: an infographic with black background. Three logos at the top: AD symbol, Boston Lyric Opera’s 50th anniversary logo, and VOX’s logo. Below, the show image for William Tell: an arrow piercing through a juicy red apple. Blue text in Olde English style font reads “William Tell” and white text below reads a quote: “William Tell was my very first audio described opera performance. I wasn’t sure what to expect...the AD team did it with one describer for the description and one for the lyrics. It was totally understandable, truly enjoyable, and a great first experience that I encourage others to try at the performances this season.” A white arrow in the bottom right corner points right. #BLOWilliamTell #AudioDescription #ThinkOutsideTheVox #BlindCommunity #ArtsAccessibility Image Description 2: an infographic with the same three logos on top and white text on the bottom half continues the quote: “Congratulations to Think Outside the Vox for such great describers, and to the Colonial and Boston Lyric Opera for this first season of accessible opera for the Blind community!
