POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

This post has clouded my thoughts for the past month. Every time I’ve sat down to write this, I change my mind on what I want to say. I’ve come to realize that that’s because there is no way I could possibly put into words what FFA truly means to me.

In 7th grade, I had only joined FFA because that’s what Mr. Wald made you do. If you were in his ag class, you were in FFA. In 8th grade, I attended FFA Camp for the first time. It was here I was shown all of the potential possibilities in FFA. I met some of my closest friends at camp these past five years. From there, opportunities and experiences flowed in.

I went on to win Dairy Cattle Evaluation individually, as well as with my team. I still wonder how we managed to pull that off.
Even though it feels amazing to bring home a trophy, nothing compares to the feeling of the memories and home I’ve made within FFA.

The memories I’ve created throughout the years are ones I will hold close to my heart for a very long time. It is in no way an exaggeration when I say that FFA played a major role in building who I am today. If it weren’t for this organization, I would never be the social, take your chance person I am.

I was so hopeful that this wouldn’t be the end of my time, I never stopped to consider what the end would look like. Becoming an alumni and taking my jacket off for the final time has been one of the hardest things I’ve ever had to accept. Watching my best friends become state officers while I close this chapter of my life has been a pain I would wish on no one.

I will forever be grateful for all the experiences I’ve had these past six years. Some moments stressed and challenged me, but I would do it all over again in a heartbeat. Thank you FFA for being my community, offering me lifelong memories, and for giving me a home away from home.

Madam President signing out.
