Christmas Day! When I decided to stay home for Christmas this year, my plan was to actually stay home on Christmas Day. Chante proclaimed “You can’t spend Christmas alone!” And while I could I accepted the invites for Christmas brunch with Lawayna and her family; and visiting with Chante and her family (which turned into a Christmas nap lol).

The (long) story behind the video: I pledged Delta Sigma Theta at Purdue University Spring 1990, I transferred to North Carolina A&T State University Fall 1991 #old

When I transferred, I shipped all my elephants to NC and because I packed them myself, they all broke. It became my grandmother’s project to put them back together. I knew they were beyond repair but I LOVED to see her diligently working with her superglue, because she knew they were important to me. So I relay that story with fond memories of my grandma. I have one stuffed elephant from my initial 22.

I didn’t get it when Chante said “I heard you” as I was opening the box. I was filming because the box was beautiful and I thought it was collectible Coke bottles. Once I saw the contents, the “I heard you” clicked - then the tears 🥹

This is just one example of why I love and celebrate my friends. They see and hear me. And I love that my tears of joy don’t phase them. If you listen closely, you can Chante walking away saying “the Kleenex is upstairs” 🤣🤣

Last picture - I had to balance white Santa with some culture lol
Merry Christmas!!!
