Today we celebrated my favorite guy’s 75th birthday. Most of the life lessons I’ve learned, I’ve learned from him. Not always on the first try - because sometimes we have to learn the hard way that our parents are most often correct. Watching him taught me the value of hard work - in all things. The value of love and treating people fairly and equally. He taught me how to play baseball and helped to shape my love of sports. He shared his albums and love of music. He has always been my biggest supporter and my favorite coach. I’m so fortunate to be his son. I can only aspire to be half the husband, father and man that he is. He’s my day one hero. So happy we got to hang with the GOAT today! I love you, Dad!

16 years ago, our tiny little bundle of joy burst onto the scene - and it’s been non stop “never a dull moment” ever since. I wouldn’t trade it for anything. She’s beautiful inside and out; incredibly smart; musically gifted; funny and witty 24/7; loyal and protective of those close to her; strong willed and independent. I could go on and on about our “Peanut,” but there’s too much to type and not enough words. I’m very proud to be her dad and to have made the memories we’ve made - and can’t wait to see the future unfold in Lily World (I’ll be sure to buckle up…it’s a wild place 😜). Love you, Peanut. My amazing dreamer. Happy Sweet 16!!! ❤️🎉🎂🥳✌🏻

My day after birthday present for my 30th birthday was a bundle of joy that has been making me smile, laugh, love and live ever since she arrived. I’m so fortunate to have a birthday buddy daughter - especially one who loves unconditionally, teaches inclusively, breaks down her comfort zones over and over - and lights up the room with her beautiful smile and passion for fun times. She loves her family with her whole heart. Her pets aren’t far behind. Her students are close to her heart as well. I couldn’t be more proud of my Punk. She’s everything a father could ask for and then some. I love her so much. Happy Birthday, Emilie Elizabeth. I can’t wait to celebrate with you!! ❤️🎉🥳🎊🎁🎶🎭🏫 #goffspring #birthday

Nearly 10 years ago, we brought home our family’s 4 legged furry addition - Sterling William Archer Goff (Acronym: SWAG). Archer. Arch. Archie (usually said in an Edith Bunker voice). He was the old man of our canine crew and today we said goodbye for now as he crossed the rainbow bridge. We are all hurting - but also grateful for the memories we were able to make with our beautiful boxer beagle boy. He loved his humans, playing tug of war with Dad, car rides with the windows down, chasing his younger siblings around the backyard and occasionally peeing on random inanimate objects (who pees on an Adirondack chair? Come on!). He let us know loudly whenever there was a delivery person of some sort within 10 blocks, and he was a great snuggle buddy for his human “sisters.” We will all miss him terribly but carry him close in our hearts. Forever. Pets are family. Hug yours extra tightly - and tell them Archer said hello. Sleep well, sweet boy. Dad loves you - always. 😢❤️🐾🌈 #goffspringpets

Almost ran out of daylight to wish my youngest Goffspring a happy 14th birthday. Hard to believe it’s been 14 years already. I love this young lady with all of my heart. I admire her passion for life, her laugh, her heart, her sense of humor (clearly from ME). She is a beauty - inside and out (clearly from @katiesue1974 😎). She is a true and honest friend. She’s a great student and musician. She’s charming and stubborn and hilarious and so so SO smart. She makes each day in Lily World a true adventure - and I can’t wait to see the daily updates along with the roads she travels, the doors she bursts through and the opportunities she creates for herself. I am so proud to be her father. My peanut. My Lil Duck. I love you Lily Sue! Happy Birthday - thanks for spending your day with me. #goffspring #hbdlilysue 🦆❤️💅🏻🎉🎂🎁🎈😘🤘🏻

Exactly six years ago, I lost my all time favorite “Six”, my mother, Roberta Six. I learned so much about life and love from her. Her life was an adventurous one, full of ups and downs. Mountains to climb. Valleys from which to rise . She loved her grandchildren so much. She loved her animals. She loved being kind to people. Generous to a fault at times. She battled many demons. But she battled. And as I remember the myriad things she taught me - perseverance is one that sticks with me. Right now, if she could talk to me she’d tell me to “buck up, quit crying and get back to work” 😂. And she’s be right. I don’t have the words to describe how much I miss her and think about her and all of the world that we were able to explore together. I do miss her every single day. Every. Single. Day. It doesn’t get easier. But I hold her in my heart and thoughts daily. And try to make her proud from above, where she is resting peacefully. Progress, not perfection. Every day. I love you, Mom. RIP. 💔

Who’s “feeling 22” today? This amazing young lady right here!! Happy Birthday, @emgofff! I love you so much and am so proud of the person you are - your heart, your quick wit, your plentiful smiles, your leadership with your little sis (she thinks you are the bomb even though she doesn’t tell you often enough 😎) and your dedication and care with your students. You’re beautiful, passionate and kind. I couldn’t be more blessed to have such a wonderful birthday buddy. Happy Birthday, Punk!🎉🎂🥳❤️😎💙 #goffspring #happybirthday

Every day is National Daughters Day when you have 4 daughters. I am beyond blessed. They’re all very beautiful young women. They are all unique. They’re all smart. They’re all funny. They’re all talented. They’re all part of the reason for my gray hair. They’re all also part of why my heart is always full. I love you, ladies. I’m proud to be able to call you my daughters. 💕 #nationaldaughtersday #goffspring
