17 girls. 17 personalities. And what a joy discovering the person behind each sash! ❤️

Together with Dr Jenny Cha @jnycha , we spent Day 4 at UCSI University exploring grooming, personal styling, colour analysis, body shapes and communication, before heading to Reform Studio @reformstudio.kuching for posture, movement and pageant walk training.

Some were shy, some naturally expressive, while others just needed a little encouragement. And those little moments when their faces lit up as they discovered something new about themselves? Priceless!

Confidence isn’t something you put on. It’s something you build.

As an Image Consultant and Corporate Trainer, I’ve learnt that meaningful development begins with understanding the individual, not expecting everyone to fit into the same mould.

And isn’t that true in our workplaces too?

But somewhere between the laughter, awkward first attempts and little breakthroughs, I found myself becoming more invested in these girls than I expected.

Not because of the crowns, but because I was beginning to see the young women they could become.

Their cultures, talents, ambitions and dreams. So much potential waiting for the right opportunities.

And I genuinely want more people to see what we see in them.

To the brands and organisations out there, I hope you’ll get to discover these wonderful young women too. Imagine the meaningful collaborations and community initiatives we could create together!

Because sometimes, all someone needs is for another person to recognise their potential and give them a chance to shine.

And that, for me, is what makes this journey so meaningful.

BEHIND THE CROWN | DAY 1
After weeks of names, photos, measurements, forms and endless WhatsApp messages, we were finally meeting all 17 girls.

Being entrusted to lead the MST Academy, I knew one thing — there was no way we were going to train 17 women to look, speak and behave exactly the same.

𝗧𝗵𝗮𝘁’𝘀 𝗷𝘂𝘀𝘁 𝗻𝗼𝘁 𝗵𝗼𝘄 𝗜 𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗸.

Day 1 was really about watching and getting to know them.
Who naturally spoke up. Who hung back a little. Who already owned her space… and who needed a little more time before you started seeing her.

With Dr Jenny Cha, @jnycha my partner-in-crime throughout the Academy, there was A LOT of observing, exchanging looks and comparing notes. 😂

Some needed confidence. Some needed polishing. Some needed help finding their voice.
And some already had so much in them… they just couldn’t see it yet.

𝗔𝗻𝗱 𝗧𝗛𝗔𝗧, 𝗜 𝗹𝗼𝘃𝗲.

On Day 1, we didn’t know who would eventually wear those crowns. We definitely didn’t know how attached we were going to become.

And we had absolutely NO idea how little sleep we were about to survive on.

🌿 MST Journey — Day 5 | Culture, Connection & Heart 👑

Day 5 was packed, exciting and meaningful! ❤️ We explored Kuching through the Sarawak Cultural Village, Kuching Waterfront and Cat Museum, experiencing more of the culture, heritage and uniqueness of Sarawak.

But one of my favorite highlights was our CSR session with the children of PERYATIM. Instead of just having the usual meet-and-greet, I conducted a fun “Guess My Ethnicity” cultural game with the children. 😍

The finalists introduced themselves using their own mother tongue or ethnic lingo, while the children listened carefully and tried to guess their ethnicity. The room became so lively with laughter, curiosity and plenty of guessing! 😂

What I loved most was that beneath the fun was something meaningful — learning to appreciate our differences through language, culture and identity. Sarawak is beautifully diverse, and this simple activity allowed the finalists to proudly share a little piece of who they are while giving the children an opportunity to discover the different cultures around them. ❤️

And after a full day out… balik rumah, training continued! 😅👑 With Pre-Judging Day approaching, we worked on preparation, communication and Q&A, together with a sharing session by Joeyce and Nadine.

Day 5 reminded me that Miss Sarawak Tourism is not only about the crown. It is about culture, community, connection and carrying the beautiful diversity of Sarawak with pride. ❤️👑#MissSarawakTourism2026 #TheFaceOfSarawakTourism #MSTJourney #DrJennyCha #jennychadiary

𝗦𝗼𝗺𝗲𝘁𝗶𝗺𝗲𝘀, 𝗶𝘁 𝘁𝗮𝗸𝗲𝘀 𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗽𝗽𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗼𝘂𝘁𝘀𝗶𝗱𝗲 𝘄𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝘄𝗲 𝗸𝗻𝗼𝘄 𝘁𝗼 𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗹𝗶𝘀𝗲 𝗷𝘂𝘀𝘁 𝗵𝗼𝘄 𝗺𝘂𝗰𝗵 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗲 𝗶𝘀 𝘁𝗼 𝗹𝗼𝘃𝗲 𝗮𝗯𝗼𝘂𝘁 𝗵𝗼𝗺𝗲. 🇲🇾💗

This Malaysia Day feels a little different for me.

After nearly two weeks in Kuching with 𝗠𝗶𝘀𝘀 𝗦𝗮𝗿𝗮𝘄𝗮𝗸 𝗧𝗼𝘂𝗿𝗶𝘀𝗺 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲, some of my favourite memories are actually the simplest ones — sitting around, makan, laughing and talking with my MST girls.

We talked about their heritage, where they grew up, their childhood, their families, the languages they speak and, of course… FOOD! 😂

One minute we were talking about pucuk cangkuk and I went, “𝗘𝗵! 𝗪𝗲 𝗲𝗮𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗶𝘀 𝘁𝗼𝗼! 𝗪𝗲 𝗰𝗮𝗹𝗹 𝗶𝘁 𝘀𝗮𝘆𝘂𝗿 𝗺𝗮𝗻𝗶𝘀!”

And there were so many little moments like that.

“𝗪𝗲 𝗮𝗹𝘀𝗼 𝗵𝗮𝘃𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝘁!”
“𝗘𝗵, 𝗼𝘂𝗿𝘀 𝗶𝘀 𝗮 𝗯𝗶𝘁 𝗱𝗶𝗳𝗳𝗲𝗿𝗲𝗻𝘁!”
“𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗱𝗼 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗰𝗮𝗹𝗹 𝘁𝗵𝗶𝘀 𝗶𝗻 𝗦𝗲𝗺𝗲𝗻𝗮𝗻𝗷𝘂𝗻𝗴?”

Just Malaysians from different parts of the country comparing how we grew up and discovering how much we actually have in common.

It reminded me that there is still so much we in Peninsular Malaysia can learn about Sabah and Sarawak — their communities, cultures and stories — and so much we can share with one another too.

Perhaps that’s one of the things Malaysia Day reminds us: 𝗴𝗲𝘁 𝘁𝗼 𝗸𝗻𝗼𝘄 𝗲𝗮𝗰𝗵 𝗼𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿 𝗮 𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘁𝗹𝗲 𝗯𝗲𝘁𝘁𝗲𝗿, 𝗮𝗽𝗽𝗿𝗲𝗰𝗶𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝘄𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗲 𝘄𝗲 𝗲𝗮𝗰𝗵 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗲 𝗳𝗿𝗼𝗺 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗰𝗲𝗹𝗲𝗯𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘆𝘁𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗺𝗮𝗸𝗲𝘀 𝘂𝘀 𝗠𝗮𝗹𝗮𝘆𝘀𝗶𝗮𝗻. 🇲🇾

Grateful for the opportunity to host the Speed Fitness Redline event and 8km Fun Run.

Amazing crowd, great energy, and a truly memorable experience.
From being a personal trainer and group fitness instructor, I never thought I had the ability to step up as a hypeman and lead the whole crowd.

This brought back great memories, especially the warm-up by @michelle_mslv with Big Bang “Fantastic Baby”!

Really thankful for the opportunity and the trust given to me.

Big thanks to @speedmiri and @yungkai6908 for the support.
