What was the last painting that you did? 🎨

I had such a fun day, with the best food, people and bookish painting kits from @partyinapaintbox

Book events always fly past in a happy blur, as that last photo I found on my phone captures well. Thanks to the lovely readers who joined me and @petronellamcgovern_author at @bookfacestores St Ives this week, especially @emilyeatspages and Sarah @withherheadstuckinabook. And thanks to Petronella for the great questions, including a couple I’ve never been asked before! ✨

Literary Bites

Last night I was invited to attend the @harpercollinsaustralia Literary Bites night to celebrate some upcoming releases. And I’m so excited for them all now.

I’ll make a reel later of all the books I was lucky enough to take home with me.

But for now Thankyou to Harper Collins for an incredible night.

Also thankyou to @lizzies.little.library for driving myself and @bibliobliss.au in.

It was also so amazing to see and chat with @anotherbookstagrammer as it’s been a while.

And @shae.reads Thankyou for helping this clumsy girl out 🤣🤣

And to all the authors who were absolutely treasures to meet to chat books with.

HARPERCOLLINS LITERARY BITES 2025 📚
A huge thank you to @harpercollinsaustralia for inviting me to attend their preview of upcoming fiction releases for 2025. If you told my preteen self that one day I’d be invited into publishing HQ to meet authors & find out about their new releases, 11-yr-old bookworm me wouldn’t have believed you! What a dream to have been included in this event!

We heard from authors @jacqueline_maley_writer , @kimberleyallsopp , @michellejohnstonauthor , @sam_guthrie_author & @alliparkerwriter who have all got me incredibly excited about their upcoming books - check the end of my reel for the titles! They’re all set to make a big splash this year & keep an eye for release dates because you won’t want to miss these!

Every chance I get to catch up with fellow bookstagrammers always puts a smile on my face & there was quite the gathering at Literary Bites! It was so great to meet many people in person for the first time after chatting for so long - hi @emilyeatspages , @twoliterateladies & @_bookswithbritt! - and catch up with friends like @anotherbookstagrammer , @booksthroughmyveins_ , @shae.reads , @nicbookpanda , @katie.reads.things , @lizzies.little.library & @racheal_reads Lizzie & Racheal, thanks for the many laughs on the journey in & home. Lizzie, you are an absolute darling for once again making sure I got to where I needed to go xx

I left with a goodie bag of upcoming HarperCollins releases (amazing!) and some chocolate too. HarperCollins know exactly how to make a bookworm very, very happy!

My thanks again to @harpercollinsaustralia for inviting me to their event!

25 BOOKS FOR 2025 🗓️✨📖
(influenced by your favourite books/authors of 2024- and all previously owned by moi).

I have thoroughly enjoyed scrolling through instagram the last week or so and seeing all of your 2024 highlights for reading. It’s my favourite time of the year on here!
When setting reading goals for 2025 I want my focus to be largely on books I already own/books already on my radar. I have some big financial goals that I want to kick this year- after just purchasing my first home I want to be focusing on extra income going into my home rather than on unnecessary items. I would never say that books are unnecessary but my library space has over 150 UNREAD books and it’s getting completely out of hand 🫣🫣

I am really excited about this stack as it is books that YOU have rated highly and personally loved- and a lot of them I have seen more than once in your wrap ups for 2024! I trust your opinions and can’t wait to delve into these!

If I have tagged you I was directly influenced by you (try guessing which book was chosen because of your bookstagram hehe). During the year I will (hopefully) review some of these books and give you my thoughts- and fingers crossed for finding some new favourite books! 💝

I know I am quiet on this app, but thank you for continuing to be an amazing group of people and spreading love about my favourite thing (books 🥹). HNY ✨

2024 what a year 🥹

This year has been a wild ride
🦋 I put myself out there and joined a book club and went to book events completely solo
🦋 I grew my account from a couple of hundred to over 2k
🦋 I watched my baby turn into a toddler 😭
🦋 I made some of my best friends
🦋 I met @charlottes_book_corner_ who is my soul sister/ can’t keep us apart bestie 🩷❤️❤️💛💚, if you know me you know I don’t really do sappy very often, so Charlotte pls just know I’d be lost without you, thanks for always listening to me and letting me make content out of everything
🦋 GOT MARRIED TO THE LOVE OF MY LIFE!!!!!
🦋 read over 100 books
🦋 supported new small businesses and told everyone about them
🦋 got my first ever publisher mail!
🦋 Went to the Maldives 😍
🦋 Met Christina & Lauren and Rebecca Yarros!!!!!?!?!?!!!!

There are so many people and things I’m grateful for this year, it won’t all fit into a caption. Just know, if you are reading this, if we have talked, met, interacted with each other this year, you have brought me so much more happiness than you know and I am so grateful for you. I cannot WAIT to celebrate your wins again in the new year

I’ve loved you 2024, here’s hoping 2025 lives up to you 🩷

𝐎𝐩-𝐬𝐡𝐨𝐩 𝐡𝐚𝐮𝐥 ~ 𝐓𝐡𝐫𝐢𝐥𝐥𝐞𝐫/𝐜𝐫𝐢𝐦𝐞 𝐞𝐝𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧

Pretty pumped with this haul! I’ve read a few good thrillers lately and more than happy to add to my TBR because when you thrift it doesn’t count right??🤭

Very keen to read 𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐋𝐢𝐚𝐫𝐬 - recommended by Liane Moriarty, one of my fave authors, is enough for me!

Also very intrigued to pick up 𝐈’𝐥𝐥 𝐁𝐞 𝐆𝐨𝐧𝐞 𝐈𝐧 𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐃𝐚𝐫𝐤 - a true crime account of the Golden State killer🔪

Has anyone read any of these?? Let me know your thoughts in the comments!!
