That one time I backpacked Vegas #seriously

earlier this month I got to go to St. Louis to celebrate the life of my sweet Grandma Sally. I may have been a step grandkid, but she never treated me like I was any less hers. Forever grateful for summer days spent at the lake, Grandma always there, keeping a watchful eye and reminding us to stay away from the muskrat traps and to be on the look out for *whispers* cottonmouths, stopping for roadside animal pictures, rescuing lost turtles, and rainy day painting lessons.
I traveled with my brothers (and visited STL) for the first time since 2016. Giggled with my cousins in front of a Monet, had a hard time getting my “look like you have dysentery” face under control, saw more art (another Degas Ballerina!), hung out in the climatron, heard some family lore, and so much more. We made the most out of the short time we had and turned a sad moment into family time we probably otherwise wouldn’t have had.
Love you, Grandma Sally🤍
