“I make a point to appreciate all the little things in my life. I go out and smell the air after a good, hard rain. I re-read passages from my favorite books.

I hold the little treasures that somebody special gave me.

These small actions help remind me that there are so many great, glorious pieces of good in the world.”

Dolly Parton forever 🕊️💘🌈✨

It took 13 US national parks (and many many years of trying), but I finally got to see one that my parents hadn’t beaten me to.

(This does feel like a challenge I’ll be chasing most of my life)

I knew Maine and Acadia would be incredible, but the stillness and quiet beauty here blew us away right upon touching down. There is appreciation for the little things - from the sun’s first morning glimpse anywhere on the eastern seaboard, blueberry flavoured everything, or a nightly ice cream in town - this place has it figured out.

Despite spending the past month falling in love with a planet named Adrian, my heart is stuck head over heels for this one we live on.

With just one hour left in earth month, I find myself still unable to express what it means to me to live here. I’m floored by her beauty every single day, and feel desperate to see as much as possible while I’m alive and able.

The vibrant red soil of Australian desert, or bluest of waters in French Polynesia. The unimaginable mountain peaks in US national parks, the untouched beauty of New Zealand and European Alps (that I desperately need to see more of) the lush green rainforests and the Great Barrier Reef. Elephants, sea turtles and cows that will always make me cry. Sunsets at my favourite place on earth, so vivid the view is painted in my memory. The sunflowers growing over my neighbour’s front yard, and my best friends dogs - whom I would die for.

I don’t have words for the gratitude I feel for this planet, and the depths of despair I feel when it feels like we aren’t treating her right. I’m terrified and furious that my grandkids won’t get to see the beauty my parents showed me. That I could take a second of it for granted. That I might be too late or too insignificant to make a difference at all.

I don’t yet have a solution for the rage, so I’ll feed the gratitude. You can too, by telling me about your favourite place on earth, so I can add it to my future dreams. Btw, the fact that I couldn’t make an earth day post because I had about 60,000 photos to choose from — says it all.

My number one girl, in my camera roll and in my heart, forever Mother Nature 🫶
