I’m a proud back-of-the-pack runner. But when I tell you that the support this crew gave me made me want to cry—and I was literally too dehydrated to shed actual tears—I mean every word.

As a back-of-the-pack runner, race days can often mean spending several miles alone with your thoughts (unless you brought a friend or met a new running buddy along the way). But my friends stepped up and ran all 13.1 miles right at my pace. I truly can’t put into words how much that meant to me.

Pacing someone might seem like a small gesture, but to the runner you’re standing beside, it is absolute magic.
Through every moment of doubt, the cramps, the blisters, the sweat, getting sick of energy gels, the complaining, the laughing, and the tears—they were right there getting me through it. I wouldn’t trade that experience for anything.

If you’re a faster runner looking to support a friend, consider running a race at their pace. You have no idea just how special, seen, and celebrated you’ll make them feel. 💜

I am still overwhelmed and feeling so much emotion and joy from this half marathon. From the very beginning of my training, I’ve had people stand by my side run many miles with me walk me through warm-ups and cool downs and just bring so much positive energy to this process. I’m so grateful for all the wonderful people that I have met through the running community!

I wish I could put my feelings into words eloquently but everyone I try to write about it, I just keep tearing up because of how much all of you mean to me.

The power of community and friendship is one that I have always appreciated and this is EXACTLY everything it should be. I love every single one of you that came out to us, ran with me, helped me grow and crossed that finish line!

I’m especially grateful for my silly gooses @midpacklisa @samibakescake and @emilysrunningdiary for making this THE BEST experience and a special thank you to my speedy friend @another_andre_scholtz for being the best encouragement and support through these miles!

And as always I am grateful for my entire @sunnyvalerumblerunclub community. This is what community can do! 💜

🎸 San Jose Rock n Roll 2026 10k 🎸

Despite temperatures rising to the 80s by 9am, it doesn’t beat how hot all my running friends are 😅 took it easy for the majority of the race by keeping my HR at threshold (160bpm) then around mile 4 my feet weren’t happy. Will probably stick to shoes that I’m used to wearing for races until my feet can acclimate to the power of the Adios Pro 4s (UPDATE: I figured out why my feet were aching. I chose the wrong socks 😵‍💫)

I have so much love for the San Jose community for showing up, and also the honor for being a race ambassador this year. Big thank you to Coach B @toolegitfitness and @beckys408 it has been awesome working with you.

Will be back next year, and I’m hoping the weather will behave then. Yall thought I was done with races for the year…well no. Stay tuned for what’s to come next month 🤫🌉

my first HALF MARATHON!! What a day! I can’t find the words to express how blessed I am to have found all of these wonderful friends through running. This is a goal I never thought I’d reach but it only takes one person to believe in you and say YEA YOU CAN! For me, I had the privilege of having a village in my corner cheering me and carrying me through the finish line!! I have so many more photos and thoughts to share (I will be very soon) but let me tell y’all, this is such a rush!!! 💜💜💜

Fourth half marathon in the books ✅
I decided to run this half about six weeks ago and it was a tough one. 70deg when we started and nearly 90 at the finish. But I was so so honored to be part of @runwithnoosh ‘s silly goose crew for her first ever half! Trial by (what felt like literal) fire. The @toolegitfitness and @sunnyvalerumblerunclub crew kept us going! #rocknroll #sanjose #bayarea #heatwave #halfmarathon

The #tealrun will always hold a special place in my heart because it was the first time I felt like I could get back to racing, and it’s where I really felt how community can move you in more ways than one.

I had the honor of volunteering with my friend @emilysrunningdiary today at the “whimsy” tent—helping survivors, runners, friends, and family make bracelets and custom charm accessories for their loved ones. Every bead strung and story shared was a quiet reminder of why we show up for each other. Hope comes in so many forms: sometimes it’s crossing a finish line, and sometimes it’s sitting side by side, creating something small with a lot of love.

Left today with a full heart, a little extra glitter, and endless gratitude for this resilient, beautiful community. 🩵✨
