What happens when the algorithm is frozen in time?

Our digital identities have become increasingly intertwined with our sense of self. In girl culture, aestheticization online revolves around an tireless cycle of reinvention and performance shaped by commodification. It begs the question: how much of this is truly the real me and how much is performative? Can we even tell the difference anymore?

The seemingly ceaseless, glowing, fast-paced algorithmic feed becomes muse. However, in these works, artists slow that pace, freezing the fleeting visual language of the internet on canvas. What’s revealed is a distinct aesthetic phenomenon that exposes the intricasies of digital consumption.
