Hands down one of my highlights of 2026. The vernissage of 𝘉𝘦𝘺𝘰𝘯𝘥 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘔𝘢𝘯𝘰𝘴𝘱𝘩𝘦𝘳𝘦 - 𝘔𝘢𝘴𝘤𝘶𝘭𝘪𝘯𝘪𝘵𝘺 𝘛𝘰𝘥𝘢𝘺 curated by @melaniebue. After opening in @stedelijkmuseum earlier this year the show moved to @kunstmuseumsg in St. Gallen until end of January 2027.

Thank you for your kindness and warmth @melaniebue and the staff @kunstmuseumsg. @emirhakin for making me laugh non stop and @extrait_sands for making me look at every image of a horse we passed in 48hr 🤣. Best company I could wish for during my first time Swiss.

If you’re around go watch it, the archicture of the museum and the fact that Richard Serra is also part of the show really adds a whole some something! Grateful ✨🧚

The Kunstmuseum St.Gallen just opened their new exhibition “Beyond the Manosphere. Masculinities Today”, which was developed in collaboration with the Stedelijk Museum in Amsterdam. Consisting of groupings of very interesting works, I was disappointed by the lack of explanatory room texts binding the works into a more cohesive whole. The “Manosphere” as a highly problematic expression of patriarchy and toxic masculinity, which threatens to indoctrinate the younger generations through social media, is a topic that is in desperate need of explanation and examination. Unfortunately, this exhibition discusses its namesake only in the introductory text, while it has passing relevance in the individual label texts of the artworks. The exhibition is open until January 24th 2027.

Nee, Beyond the Manosphere is geen tentoonstelling waar de manosphere wordt geëtaleerd of bekritiseerd. De ondertitel Masculinities Today onthult meer. De zalen van het Stedelijk Museum Amsterdam zijn namelijk ingericht als podium voor de hedendaagse man en de kunstenaars die hem bezien. Maurits de Bruijn, schrijver van de roman Man maakt stuk, schreef drie teksten voor de audiotour van Beyond the Manosphere, die vast een tipje van de sluier oplichten.
