POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED
Fifteen years ago, I walked into dance class as a little girl with big dreams, never knowing that one day it would become the place that shaped me—not just as a dancer, but as a person.
The best way I can describe these years is that it felt like living in a fairytale. Every rehearsal, every competition, every backstage hug, every laugh, every happy tear... it all felt like a little bit of fairy dust. ✨
It’s hard to accept that there won’t be another competition with this team. That I’ll never wait in the wings with butterflies in my stomach before taking the stage with the people who have been beside me for so many years.
I think that’s the hardest part about growing up. One day you’re living the moments that will become your favorite memories, and you don’t even realize they’re the ones you’ll spend the rest of your life wishing you could go back to.
To every teacher who poured their hearts into me, thank you for seeing something in me long before I ever could. To every girl who became my sister, thank you for loving me the way you do. And to my mom, thank you for every early morning, every late night, every car ride, every costume, every hug when I needed one, and for believing in this little girl’s dreams from the very beginning. None of this would have been possible without you.
South Jersey Dance Center didn’t just give me years of dance. It gave me years of home. And no matter where life takes me, there will always be a three-year-old girl inside of me who still believes walking through these doors is where magic begins.
In a few weeks, I’ll be dancing at West Chester University, carrying fifteen years of love, lessons, and memories that started right here. Every leap, every turn, and every smile I have is because someone in these walls believed in a little girl long before she believed in herself. Most of all, that someone was Miss Shae.
I love you forever and always, SJDC. 💙🩷
