Yesterday was the last time I competed for Springfield High School, and I honestly don’t have the words to fully explain how much this team has shaped me into who I am today. My freshman year, I was pushed by the seniors to be better. To learn skills I never thought I’d get like my layout, switch-ups, arabesques, and most importantly, proper technique. They believed in me before I full believed in myself. Sophomore year, I learned what it meant to be part of something bigger than just a team. I found a family. I pushed myself harder than ever and earned higher skills, like getting my full at the end of the season. I’ll never forget hitting it and seeing my entire team and coaches running toward me, hugging me after our showcase and that moment will stay with me forever. Junior year showed me what real support looks like: a team that pushed me to grow but also stood beside me through everything. And senior year gave me a team that was endlessly encouraging, a group of girls I’ve grown unbelievably close with, and relationships that I know will last a lifetime. The people I’ve met, the bonds i’ve formed, and the memories we’ve created mean more to me than I can explain. I’m so incredibly proud of this team and so excited to see what they continue to do with the talent, heart, and determination they have. I will always be grateful that I got to be apart of something so special. I will always have love for every single girl i’ve cheered with. Without cheer, I truly don’t know where I would be. It pushed me to be the best version of myself. To be dedicated, disciplined, and to leave everything on the mat. I will forever be thankful for my coaches, who never stopped pushing me to be better, even in the smallest details, like my arms in a stunt, that ended up making the biggest difference. They taught us that placement doesn’t define us, that what matters most is knowing we gave everything we had. They taught us to have fun, to trust ourselves, and not to panic over the little things. I didn’t just gain a team, I gained a family. Sisters I will always have, and coaches I will always be able to come back to. Never give up on yourself, you are more than capable❤️
