So 12 months ago being an online coach to run alongside my gym business and face to face coach at @hybridgymbirmingham BodyBurn Fitness was part of my future plans.
Fast forward to now, I started online coaching properly, I'm not a young athlete with a huge following who decided to go online with no qualifications but a six pack and Chat GPT to generate programming like so many on here do.

I've coached for 15 years full time, both in elite sport and everyday people with busy lifestyles.
I have the experience, I have the qualifications, I know when to push harder and when to pull someone back to avoid burnout or potential injury.

Yesterday the qualifying spots for DEKA World Championships DEKA Mile and Strong were emailed out.

I have 5 clients plus myself who earned qualification at the highest level.

3 of these people are online ruck clients who all contacted me and had the goal of trying to qualify for DWC.
@emma_w_9 @alicecowdell @thatukruckgirl ( Gemma).
Then there is face to face clients @mark_browne and @coops_009 who both also qualified.

This is the 2nd consecutive year that I've had numerous clients qualify for this World Championships with a 2 x World Champion winner last year.

I'm so proud of these guys and so pleased that they have achieved the goals that we set.

Now about 8 weeks of graft ahead of the big event for these guys to get through and lets see what is possible.

So proud that 3 of my female online athletes have qualified for the DEKA World Championships 2026 in the Ruck division carrying a 20lb ruck on their back throughout the whole race.

@thatukruckgirl Gemma Qualified in Ruck Mile, Ruck Strong and Ruck Fit in the under 45 age category

@emma_w_9 Emma also qualified in all 3 races in the 45+ category

@alicecowdell Alice also qualified in all 3 in the 45+ category and also in DEKA Mile and DEKA Strong non Ruck categories.

I also had 2 guys from BodyBurn Fitness and myself who qualified but that is for another post.

Just a few months ago I opened up online coaching slots around my face to face coaching at BodyBurn Fitness.
I had done bits before but never really opened it up to see what could happen.

One of the first people to ask for some help and coaching was @emma_w_9 a recent ruck athlete and hybrid athlete who we had to find a program to work around her busy lifestyle and family.

Emma raced the DEKA Fit this past weekend at East Midlands and grabbed herself a 7 minute PB compared to her time at Manchester in July which is just huge. She has also got PBs in every event she has done, is fitter and stronger than ever.

She also raced later the same day with her youngest daughter Emily and they smashed that race too.
I've also worked online with both of Emma's Daughters Emily and @megan.w07 who also raced on Saturday, smashed it and loved racing.

Next up is @alicecowdell who i met at last years DEKA World Championships.
This year Alice decided to mainly focus on the DEKA Ruck division around plenty of other races.
Since working together, again she has PB'ed in everything and at the DEKA MILE last Friday, not only did she smash her age group and come overall 2nd but she also got a PB of over a minute compared to July and 2.5 minutes compared to the DWC in December.
My most recent ruck athlete is literally a pioneer of rucking @thatukruckgirl Gemma who needed guidance and coaching following a series of injuries.

She is now way past her previous best and since working together has broken PB's in Strong, Mile and Fit.
Gemmas Fit PB last weekend was by 3 minutes compared to DWC in December and by 7 minutes compared to East Midlands last year and I'm very confident we can still take over 2 minutes off that time.

All of my Ruck girls have achieved DEKA World Championship qualifying times in all 3 DEKA Ruck races and I'm so proud of the work that they put into training.

If you feel you need some direction, change of coaching or just a chat about moving your time up then just reach out for a no obligation chat.
I work with all athletes in all spheres of sport and fitness racing, not just ruck athletes.

So last Sunday was DEKA Fit Manchester and due to other commitments I couldn't be there to support my athletes.

This is Emma @emma_w_9 who became my first online ruck athlete and this was her first DEKA Fit.

She has already got PBs in both DEKA Mile and Strong since working with me and is sitting currently in World Qualifying spots for both.
Fit is the big one though and Emma was nervous understandably.
However, she raced her race, paced herself and walked away with a 2nd place podium finish behind Alice @alicecowdell who won the overall 45+ masters ruck event and who is also one of my online athletes.

Emma will now be racing to beat her time as a remote BodyBurn Fitness athlete
, with the trusted @yomp ruck that we both swear by, at DEKA Fit East Midlands in September and will be attempting to beat this time.

The work has already started.

Today online client/Ruck athlete Emma travelled to Birmingham from the Lake District to compete at BodyBurn Fitness in both DEKA Ruck Mile and DEKA Ruck Strong.
Mile was first and she hit a 100 second PB moving her up the Global leaderboard and putting herself in strong contention for the DEKA World Championships.

Then came DEKA Ruck Strong.
The heat was rising now but she dug deep to earn a sub 20 minute time with a 45 second PB, again moving up the leaderboard and strengthening her position.

As her coach, I couldn't be prouder as this was the first time we had met since starting to work together.
Emma follows my programming and guidance with consistency and precision and this is getting her the results she deserves.

Well done Emma.

I also can't recommend Yomp enough to anyone who is thinking about taking up Rucking.

I know have 3 Ruck athletes all in the top 10 of the leaderboard with 2 of them ranking best in UK.

Ultimate Athlete completed it and with the most amazing person by my side! I have the utmost love and respect for this woman who didn’t even know me 18 months ago really yet who has by far supported me, pushed me, believed in me and helped to piece back together a Chelle she didn’t break without judgment or question and yesterday yet again she did all those things and more and received my very loud shouting and support back ❤️💪❤️💪
You see yesterday was the first time I’ve ever forward lunged, BBJd, wall balled, and deadlifted outside of my gym and to put that into even more context I couldn’t even jump with two feet together six months ago, I couldn’t weighted lunge, hell 8 weeks ago I struggled to run 400m without feeling like I was about to meet my maker 🤣 and I had NEVER thrown a wall ball at anything apart from the wall in the gym HOWEVER (yep there’s always one of those 🤪) the first half of this year was ALWAYS about pushing myself out of my comfort zone that bit more with every session, every run, every ridiculous balance exercise, and by attending each and every comp and getting to the end of it to give myself a base for the second half of the year because until we’ve done these things in a race setting we can never know what we need to work on - I now have five weeks until May 31st and I think I know what I’m going to do, today though is reset, regroup and tomorrow it’s back to training and enjoying a day off with no current plans 👀😉 enjoy your Sunday go out and be amazing much love and again Emma THANK YOU ❤️❤️❤️❤️

Introducing new online client @emma_w_9

Emma is fairly new to the Hybrid world but is jumping in with both feet.
Living in The Lake District can make travelling to various events a little difficult but that doesn't stop Emma, especially when a Ruck is involved, she LOVES to compete in DEKA Ruck events and is raring to amplify her training to reach some pretty big goals.

If you are thinking about getting a coach, don't go for a generic AI program that most 'coaches' send, invest in someone who can genuinely get you to your goals.

From 1st timers to podium chasers, DM me for details
