My cup runneth over with happiness and gratitude to have landed among this group tackling this beautiful beast of a show. We really did it! To my stage sisters, in particular: how I will treasure the time we shared! Even the moments we feared our brains might implode; maybe especially then actually. Yip! 💕❤️

How lucky am I to have gotten to exist in the same timeline as this team?

I’m going through Quilters photos for a “cool girl photo dump”, and I just can’t curate it to be that way. This is a scrapbook of what this show was for me, and I’m too grateful to be a cynic. I got to spend days and hours with the most supportive and ego-less group of people I’ve ever come across in one room.

I had no idea what this musical was about when I said yes to this project, and upon first description I was afraid it would be one long version of the prairie scene from Waiting for Guffman. I knew it was a bluegrass score, it was a livable artistic wage, and the brilliant (not hyperbole!!! She gives the most delicious direction!!!) Amelia Fischer sold it as a tribute to the under-appreciated and thankless job of being a woman during *all of this*, and the matriarchal clusters we’ve had to find and rely on since we started walking on two legs.

Little did I know this would be the project where I was allowed and encouraged to be a mom and a leader. So much of my career post-kid has been “well you have to pick one—are you an artist or a mom” and I felt celebrated as both when I look at these photos. It’s not everyday both of your grownups are booked and blessed during the same four week overlap, but when they are, I hope the cast and crew are half as gracious as these folks. Especially when she’s expelling a demon on the conductor cam. Let’s go to it [Shania’s version]🩷🩷🩷🩷🩷🩷🩷🩷
