Top 5 Tightest Battles at CANPL Nationals 2026

1. Men's 74kg Junior — Just 6.6kg separates the projected top 3 in what could be the closest contest of the entire meet. All 5 contenders' prediction intervals overlap, anyone of the top 5 could take it.

2. Women's 57kg Open — Only 10.4kg between the top 3 with fully overlapping intervals across all 5 lifters. This one's will be down to third attempts.

3. Women's 52kg Junior — A razor-thin 10.6kg spread with 4 of 5 intervals overlapping. Expect a dog fight between these 5.

4. Men's 105kg Junior — The heaviest projected totals of the top 5 battles (~801kg) with just 15.3kg separating the podium. All intervals overlap, execution is absolutely necessary.

5. Men's 93kg Open — An 847kg projected top total and only 16.1kg in the spread. Five lifters all in the mix.

Projections based on historical OpenIPF data using meet-over-meet trend modeling with 80% prediction intervals. "Spread" = gap between projected 1st and 3rd place totals.

Tag the people I missed down below!

*Note: looks like there's an issue with international meets, so some lifters might be undercounted

Recap Junior and Sub-Junior Worlds 2025!
I am so insanely grateful to have had this opportunity. If you had told me when I started my coaching journey that I would be able to be with Team Canada, to learn and help so many athletes, I would not believe you. This trip, this experience, made me realize that I love this job, it's my true passion and that most importantly, I am good at it. Im so glad to have been a part of this beautiful team that @canadapowerlifting brought toghether. Special thanks to @ryan.fowler1 for trusting me and giving me this opportunity, cannot wait to be back 🤝
Here is a little recap:
1:Trying my best to understand GoodLift and doing everything I could to make the right predictions and to learn.
2-3: Warmup room with @jimmykwillard and @danii_cbb , enjoying the chaotic experience of being the only team to clear our bars before leaving.
4: The best team.
5: Helping out @johnballesterosfit to get Canada's first overall podium with a Total 🥉, aswell as a BP 🥉.
6: Having an insane session with @coeurlifts @emmacantlift and @andrea.v340 getting a SQ and DL 🥉 in that session.
7: Great session with @logi.lifts and @tmacsmalls getting a Double podium on DL for 🥈 and 🥉 aswell as a Total 🥉 and a SQ 🥉. Amazing work from Terrence to stay in the game after SQ and secure that medal at the end. 🤝
8: Handling my own athlete, @alexx.sbd , at worlds, having not the best day but having tons of fun regardless and leaving with a DL 🥉 and high hopes for next year.
9: The beautiful team of coaches 🫶
10: Spending time with many different people in between sessions
11: Doing my best @gabaube.sthpowergym impression in the warmup room
12: Missing the Eleiko racks rn
13-14:Bestie during the trip @coachdanzah messing around and making Team Canada's emote.
15: Me and @phil.electrique after the 63kg battle
16: Regular @big.dude42 and @elie.mallette activities
17-18: Being able to meet such incredible people as @knuteinarskar and @pawel_jurczynski who are two of my biggest inspirations as coaches, incredibly grateful to have met them 🙏
19: @whitelightsmedia.intl catching me off guard.

What a wonderful experience filled with joy, thrill, and beautiful encounters. It made me fall in love with powerlifting even more and reiterated my passion for the sport both as a coach and as an athlete.

I am proud to be Canadian, but I’m especially proud of being part of Team Canada, and this trip has made me even more patriotic than I already was🇨🇦

I’ll definitely be back next year for their quest to break records, aim for the top, and make us proud once again, showing that Canada is one of the top dogs in our sport called powerlifting🔥

Huge thank you to @canadapowerlifting and @ryan.fowler1 for this wonderful opportunity🙏🤝
