Presenting 10 Q’s with the team of USC thesis film “The Sample Size”! 🫶🎥👠 Our crowdfunding campaign is now LIVE so click the link in our bio to support our film!

My name is Emma Kidd, and I’m a writer, director, and actor from Coronado, California. Growing up as a creative, I always found myself drawn to self-expression — whether through writing, acting, or directing. Today I’m pursuing that dream as an MFA candidate in Film and Television Production at the USC School of Cinematic Arts.

My thesis film, “The Sample Size,” is a psychological thriller set in the ruthless world of high fashion. It follows Amara, a lowly seamstress who becomes the mentee of world-renowned designer Vivienne Rive — a woman who tries to break her with impossible standards. At its core, “The Sample Size” is a story about resilience, and about refusing to shrink yourself to reach your goals.

With your help, we can bring this story to life. Your contribution will go directly toward covering locations, feeding our crew, costumes, and so much more!

Please share this with everyone and anyone interested in supporting indie filmmakers! Your donation is greatly appreciated!

Extremely excited to post the first round of Behind the Scenes photos for Expert System! A film doesn't get made without the people. This is a known fact, but every day of production, our crew reminded me of that fact. They showed up with a verve and passion to make things happen. Brilliant minds collaborating not just to get the work done, but to make it their own, imbuing our film with their own creativity.

I'm extremely grateful to everyone's hard work and for inspiring me to give 150% every day. We made this movie as a team and that's something to be proud of. We didn't have a single day without laughs and goofs to make the 12 hour days go by in what felt like 12 minutes.

More photos to come, which means more memories and more people to highlight!
